The position
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary AI Lab Program Director to lead our cutting-edge research and development initiatives. As the AI Lab Program Director, you will play a critical role in driving innovation in AI technologies, ensuring the right business cases, tools and methodologies are available in the company to scale AI. You will be overseeing the overall direction and management of our AI Lab program, ensuring its alignment with our business goals and objectives.
The successful candidate will have experience in managing large scale tech or AI programs, balances fast-forward thinking, innovation with pragmatism and tangible results, and is able to operate under uncertainty, given how fast this technology is evolving and getting democratized in the business world.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement a comprehensive AI Lab strategy, overseeing program streams such as; Generative AI usecases, GenAI Marketplace, AI Ethics and Compliance.
• Be a program lead of a small team of talented researchers, engineers, and data scientists in the AI Lab, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
• Identify and prioritize research areas and projects, ensuring appropriate focus and prioritisation to drive impactful and valuable AI advancements.
• Stay abreast of the latest trends, advancements, and emerging technologies in the field AI, and assess their potential applications and benefits for the organization.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, engineering, and business units, to integrate AI capabilities across the organisation.
• Provide leadership and guidance in addressing ethical considerations and privacy concerns related to AI, promoting responsible and accountable AI practices.
• Foster strategic partnerships and collaborations with academia, industry experts, and external research organizations to enhance knowledge sharing and accelerate innovation.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance and progress of AI Lab projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Qualifications:
• Proven experience (ideally 10+ years) in leading and managing complex, uncertain, tech-heavy or AI programs, preferably in an industry, startup or corporate, setting.
• Master’s degree or PhD in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. A strong background in AI is essential.
• Deep understanding of various AI methodologies, including ML, NLP and LLMs. Strong knowledge of AI infrastructure, tools, and frameworks.
• Proven ability to assess business potential and risks of new technologies effectively and convert them to practical applications and tangible results.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams and stakeholders.
• High empathy in understanding business and regulatory problems and able to bridge those with tangible AI solutions.
• Knowledge of ethical considerations and responsible AI practices, with a commitment to ensuring fairness, transparency, and privacy in AI systems.
• Experience working in a regulated industry is a plus.

The position is primarily located in Bagsværd, with flexible working options. As you will be working in a global environment, you must expect some meetings to take place outside Danish working hours and some travel activity. About the department
We are a team of data scientists, analysts, machine learning engineers and developers, partnering across the organisation to deliver impactful end to end data products, analytics and ML solutions spanning from Research, to Commercial and Production. We want to industrialise and democratise the way we do AI, reducing the lead time from PoC to Production with scalable data platforms, MLOps, reference architectures and modularised components that span across the whole data and ML lifecycle. We are cloud native and work primarily in AWS. We work agile, embrace continuous learning and a culture of feedback and honesty, and we don’t forget to have fun.
Our group is part of the larger area of BI, Data Management and Analytics, where we get to work closely with our AWS data lake, data marketplace and data science platforms, having cross-functional power to quickly design and implement scalable solutions as well as take care of operations.
