The position As our experienced Medical Device Developer, you will work as a Systems Engineer and play a leading role in the development of a medical device project through all stages of the product lifecycle. You will be responsible for accurately defining the device requirements and assuring that these requirements are met by the device. You will keep a holistic and structured view of the device during the development process, and you will need to solve interdisciplinary challenges that occur during that process. Tasks related to the position will include:
• Establishment of user needs and systems requirements.
• Verification planning and reporting.
• Establishment of the design history file.
• Ensure design control during development.
• Conducting thorough and detailed analyses of critical system issues.
• Aligning with stakeholders across the organisation to reach decisions and ensure progress. Besides we are looking for someone who is not afraid of taking the lead on improvement initiatives and process work and someone who leads by example to inspire and motivate more junior colleagues. You will work in close collaboration with e.g. regulatory affairs, risk managers, mechanical engineers, project managers, development manufacturing, UX and graphical designers, and you will play an important role in connecting these stakeholders across professional areas of expertise. Qualifications To succeed in this role, we expect you to have:
• A bachelor or master’s degree within engineering (e.g. Biomedical, Mechanical or similar)
• 3+ years of working experience
• Work experience within medical device development or other regulated industries
• Experience with Systems Engineering
• Experience with design control processes
• Fluent in English (both written and spoken)
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations such as ISO 13485 and the MDD or MDR (if you have worked with medical devices) It would be considered an advantage if you have:
• Successfully taken a product from concept to product launch
• Proficiency in requirements tools e.g. Modern Requirements
• Managed complexity of multiple platforms and variants through Product Line Engineering, Configuration Management, and/or Variability Modelling As a person, you are analytical, structured, demonstrate attention to detail, while keeping the overview of the system you are engineering. You thrive in a dynamic and changing environment and are not afraid of voicing your opinion and challenging status quo on our processes. You are a strong team player recognised for your interpersonal skills. You bring a "can do" spirit, a healthy common sense, and a good sense of humour to your work.
