The position As Modelling and Capacity Engineer, you will take charge of, enhance, and operate our existing capacity models and digital twins. These models serve as pivotal decision-making tools for optimizing operations across the four factories under our support. Your main responsibilities include: Utilizing input from production, you will employ your modeling skills and chemical process expertise to run scenarios and put forth the most viable optimization proposals. Your role in addressing our long-term business challenges will be instrumental in shaping the future of bioprocessing within the organization. To excel in this multifaceted task, you will collaborate extensively with a diverse array of stakeholders, including local process specialists, the manufacturing development department, and other capacity modelers. You will also be tasked with mentoring students in this field. Given the nature of this position, effective communication of your results is crucial. You should be prepared to deliver presentations to management and specialists on a frequent basis. Qualifications To be considered for this position, you should: • Hold a MSc (or PhD) in chemical engineering, industrial engineering, or similar • Demonstrate expertise in model design, targeting capacity analysis • Preferably experience with production of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API). • Exhibit proficiency in basic programming skills. • Showcase strong communication skills, with a natural ability to engage with stakeholders of diverse backgrounds. • Possess excellent fluency in English, both in spoken and written communication About the department The Purification Plant area in Kalundborg, are part of the Diabetes API Manufacturing Hub. This area consists of four separate factories, plus various support functions. Each factory purifies different Active Pharmaceutical Ingrediencies for diabetes care and obesity products. You will be working as part of PP BIO (Bioprocess Improvements-Optimization). We are a team centred around modeling, capacity optimization and manufacturing intelligence. Our goal is to help the rest of the organization make data driven decision. We consist of 9 full time employees and a handful of students, working in close collaboration with the rest of the organization.
