The Position
This Scientific Product Owner position is responsible for developing crucial software products across Research that spans many modalities (e.g. proteins, peptides, RNAi, stem cells) and disease areas (e.g. diabetes, obesity, NASH, and sickle cell). The software products in scope include our electronic laboratory notebook, molecule registration systems, assay data management, and inventory management systems.
Your primary focus will be to:
• Be a key contributor to the product vision and drive in definition of business context
• Have knowledge on business impact and end-user understanding in complex and highly critical scientific solutions for the digitalization of research data
• Ensure active engagement of scientific stakeholders and align with the business owner
• Create and maintain team backlog
• Prioritize the backlog according to business value and alignment with product strategy/roadmap objectives
• Work with stakeholders and Agile team to ensure flow
• Use Agile product development techniques to validate fit for purpose
• Ensure stories are delivered according to agreements and hold team accountable for on time delivery
• Contribute in Agile team events
• Create a collaborative work environment
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you have:
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with a Master degree or PhD in natural sciences or engineering
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical research and associated software products
• Strong communication skills for building relationships with scientific and technical stakeholders
• Structured and focused on driving outcomes
The Scientific Product Owner will be responsible for the vision and delivery of software products by working in an agile framework with colleagues from across R&ED, DSI and our IT organization. They will be responsible for creating a high performing group of colleagues that work collaboratively together. The ideal candidate will have a track record of the successful delivery of solutions. They will be responsible for solutions from initial vision and minimal viable product through to mature software products.
About the department
You will be part of the Data Management & Informatics (DMI) department, where we are responsible for providing scientific data and software products to support the global research and early development organisation at Novo Nordisk. Our work spans driving digitalisation of laboratories, enabling scientific data capture, creating harmonized data for analytics, and providing informatics tools. We enable disruptive innovation and data driven decision making across areas that include disease understanding, molecular design, portfolio management and external scouting. We have a strong focus on employee engagement, and on developing and retaining talent.
