Apply today for a life-changing career. The position As a Director for Strategy & External Trends, your responsibilities will be :
  • Drive world-class Digital Transformation Strategy and External Trends Research – market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes.
  • Develop and execute the Digital Transformation Strategy within Drug Development – connecting digital strategy and trends in the digital space.
  • Define and implement a strategy execution framework by engaging in the process of leveraging external trends & business needs to define priorities – A combination of bottom-up and top-down ideation to foster an innovation culture.
  • Collaborate extensively with peers on Director level and up to adapt, align, and monitor the execution of Development’s Digital Transformation Strategy, continuously updating it and staying on top of and incorporating external trends (pharma & non-pharma).
  • Continuously challenge the status quo of our digital transformation activities, taking an out-side-in perspective to future proof our efforts.
  • Lead the cross-SVP area process to development of the annual Digital Transformation Roadmap.
  • Secure Resourcing and Funding for annual Digital Transformation Roadmap, Manage the annual DTLT Budget in conjunction with Business Finance
  • Operationalization the Digital Transformation Leadership Team – Implement the revised DTLT remit, RACI, governance, mandates, QBR, and host meetings in the new format.
  • Identify & represent Development towards key external partners, drive mutually beneficial collaboration and ensure that the full business area exposure is leveraged in negotiations.
  • Qualifications To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
  • Master's degree in MBA, MSC with focus on Information Technology, Life Science, Biotechnology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Management Consulting with focus on Life-Science Pharmaceutical Drug Development, with a strong preference for candidates who have held a similar role.
  • Proven track record leading the strategy and operationalization of digital transformation, especially within pharma drug development.
  • Deep understanding of external trends in digital transformation within pharma R&D and demonstrated success to proactively translate those into strategy in collaboration with digital transformation leads.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Strong problem-solving skills , attention to detail, and a creative, innovative, ‘can-do’, and pragmatic management approach.
  • Excellent enterprise leadership mindset and strong ability to work in a matrixed environment, leading and influencing through uncertainty.
  • About the department Digital Transformation reports directly into the EVP of Drug Development run by a Corporate Vice President, with approximately 40 direct reports and an indirect organization of over 800 people across DD&IT and our lines of business. The Digital Transformation Leadership Team sets the strategic direction, governs our digital investments, and ensures delivery of all programs. We are responsible for core infrastructure resiliency, building data foundations, automation at scale, identifying ways to increase the value of asset programs, and building people capabilities and standards for growth.
