As a Senior Project Manager, you will be part of the Social & Humanitarian team and get a unique opportunity to framing, building and executing the Novo Nordisk Foundation’s Strategy on Humanitarian and Development Aid. The strategy forms part of the overall strategy of the Foundation’s 2019-2023 Strategy with a vision to improve people’s life and the sustainability of society with a payout target of DKK 5 billion for 2023.
The Novo Nordisk Foundation’s humanitarian and development aid initiatives aim to improve the opportunities for disadvantaged children and young people. We have a strategic focus on youth empowerment and fighting non-communicable diseases (NCDs). Furthermore, the Foundation will explore new ways of financing development and humanitarian action through blended financing opportunities.
We offer our new Senior Project Manager the opportunity to become an important part of an exciting journey to define how we can contribute significantly to designing new solutions for the humanitarian crisis and development challenges of the world.
The Job
As a Senior Project Manager, you will have an important role in framing, building and executing the Foundation’s portfolio of humanitarian and development aid initiatives.

Professional and Personal Qualifications
We are looking for a person who has an extensive track record of successful international development aid work as well as a broad experience with relevant national authorities, private sector, civil society, international organizations, other foundations, the research environment and other relevant national and international actors.

The Job
As a Senior Project Manager, you will have an important role in framing, building and executing the Foundation’s portfolio of humanitarian and development aid initiatives.
Your tasks will include:
- Drive, coordinate and follow-up on projects, portfolio development and strategic partnerships.
- Scoping and writing project proposals and documents to the Management Team, Chairmanship, Board of Directors and Committees including delivering world class secretarial service.
- Manage and interact with relevant stakeholders, partners, grant recipients and departments across the Foundation.
- Professional sparring with the humanitarian team in executing the Foundation’s Strategy on Humanitarian and Development Aid.

Professional and Personal Qualifications
We are looking for a person who has an extensive track record of successful international development aid work as well as a broad experience with relevant national authorities, private sector, civil society, international organizations, other foundations, the research environment and other relevant national and international actors.
Furthermore, we expect that you have:
- A relevant educational background, e.g. a master’s degree in political science, development economics, international relations, social science or related field
- Many years of a proven track record of humanitarian and development aid work within our strategic focus areas, especially within youth empowerment. Field experience from the MENA region will be an advantage.
- Experience with capacity development with local partners and implementation of good practices and scalable solutions within the focus areas.
- Experience with public-private partnerships and knowledge of humanitarian impact investments.
- Several years of experience in project management and project partnerships.
- Excellent communication skills in English both in writing and verbally.
