Automation System Manager

About the department

In Insulin Manufacturing 2 (IM2), we produce the core ingredients in Novo Nordisk products and looking ahead 4- 5 years, IM2 will have the world´s largest fermentation plant. In the automation team you will work together with automation supporters and system managers to handle all the support needs of the line 24-7. We spend time on shop floor support, building relations and making sure that we understand the reality of the actual production – from operators and skilled workers to specialist and technicians. Whenever an issue arises – and preferably before – we participate in the problem solving and the development of corrective and preventive measures that will allow the production to continue.

The job

As our new system manager, your days will be highly varied. Mostly, you will work with the system management and compliance for the PCS system in our purification plant. A lot of cooperation with the plant, process groups and projects will be part of the daily work. Sometimes, your expertise will be needed for problem solving – facilitating the systematic root cause finding that we can base corrective and preventive measures on.

Optimisations or projects will also be your focus – making sure that we will be able to meet the demands of the future. We harvest huge amounts of data, and identification of trends, potential and risk through extensive data analysis, will become a source of new initiatives.

The position is back-office orientated but you should be able to work in close cooperation with colleagues and stakeholders across the organisation to ensure that you have all the information and business insight you need for your daily work.

The job merits, that you are well qualified in Danish as well as in English, enabling you to have highly technical discussions with all your colleagues.

Qualifications

Most importantly, you have a feel for system management and procedures. Secondly, you should have the curiosity of the shop floor and our processes.

To be successful in this role we expect you to have:

  • Educational background within automation, marine technology, food production or pharma and as a minimum a an engineering degree, BA Eng or similar.
  • Analytic skills and academic know-how in qualifying and validating the projects that will make us ready for the future
  • Experience in systems management in a production facility. Although biological and chemical processes play extensive parts in our setup, this expertise is not of main concern in this position.
  • Knowledge of PCS-systems ABB (Sattline or 800xA), Siemens (PLC) and-/or MES would be a benefit.

On a personal level you can set direction and energise people around you based on your ideas. You can demonstrate to us how this energy is transformed into solid results, and how you never compromise on quality. We expect you to at least have a reasonable understanding of the regulatory demands we work under, and the motivation to learn more about it quickly. In general, you create trustful relations, thrive in the exchange of knowledge and are a good listener.
