The position Novo Nordisk is a partner in the BEAMER consortium (Behavioral and Adherence Model for improving quality, health outcomes and cost-effectiveness of healthcare), a collaborative European research project within the Innovative Medicine Initiative IMI programme. The aim of this IMI project is to develop a disease-agnostic behavioural and adherence model for improving quality, health outcomes, and cost-effectiveness of healthcare, through improving the quality of life of individuals, enhance healthcare accessibility and sustainability. The consortium consists of leading European universities and research units of pharmaceutical companies. https://beamerproject.eu/ . As a Quantitative Researcher, you will be linked to IMI programme and contribute to the creation of a predictive, behavioural (adherence) model and algorithm by:
  • Helping to develop a conceptual model and algorithm considering multiple computational techniques to predict behaviour outcomes and categorise patients into different behavioural phenotypes.
  • Collecting, matching and filtering the data streams from various trials / use synthetically generated data to ensure accurate training of the machine learning algorithm.
  • Investigating new data from ongoing/coming studies with a focus on filling up the gaps and improving the performance of our predictive machine learning algorithm.
  • Taking ownership of your responsibilities and ensuring stakeholder management, a clear communication, and driving experimental work.

    Qualifications
  • Post.doc/PhD in relevant discipline, e.g. data science, computer science or psychology etc. Alternatively, a medical doctor with strong data science skills.
  • Proficiency in python, R or similar.
  • Strong data modelling and data interpretation skills.
  • Understanding of behaviour and adherence to following treatment.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

  • On a personal level, you have a strong personal drive, dedication, and the ability to independently guide your work. You are well-organized, data-oriented, and analytical. Furthermore, strong communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate in global and also remote set-ups. About the department
    In DDS, we are more than 350 colleagues who design and develop innovative delivery solutions including connected systems with software as a medical device for the Novo Nordisk drug pipeline. Only by considering what is valuable from a patient perspective can we help people live a life with as few limitations as possible. That’s what we call empathy-driven innovation. Delivery and connected devices support patients in taking the right dose, in the right way, at the right time, while digital SaMD simplifies the treatment and enables a more meaningful dialogue between the patient and health care provider. This leads to improved outcomes which in turn means that patients are further supported in following their treatment regimes. To ensure this development journey our delivery and connectivity systems are developed in close collaboration between patients and the scientific discovery teams across Novo Nordisk. You will be part of a team of competent researchers and engineers who engage in the development of first generation SaMD products within Novo Nordisk.
