Next Gen Concepts and Partnering is center point for innovations in and around the core of our Vestas Business. We develop the new radical solutions that enable the new WTG concepts to materialize from both a technical and commercial standpoint. We take solutions from the sketch on the napkin to commercial reality.

Power Solutions Innovation & Concepts Next Gen Concepts & Partnering
Next Gen Concepts and Partnering is center point for innovations in and around the core of our Vestas Business. We take solutions from the sketch on the napkin to commercial reality.
Responsibilities
- Assess structural integrity of support structure and floating structure to offshore wind turbines
- Perform design of large scale structures
- Be visionary and generate new ideas and concepts for next generation wind turbine support structure
- Bridge technical assessment to commercial input
- Coordinate and drive design tasks within the project design team
- Develop innovative structural solutions and new technologies to enable more cost-efficient wind turbine support structure and Balance of plant
- Optimize structure for function, simplicity, cost and manufacturability
- Cooperate with experts in other engineering disciplines e.g. geodynamics, structures, electrical, loads, and controls
- Develop the tool chain for design and simulation of offshore wind turbine foundation and floating
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of wind industry experience with design of offshore structures
- Experience with application of 3D FE for structural analysis
- Have an understanding of different numerical modelling methods with emphasis on the fundamentals of the FE theory and its applicability in geotechnical engineering (including nonlinear)
- Have an understanding of and experience in applying metocean conditions, structural dynamics, hydrodynamics, aero-elasticity, stochastic processes, and/or statistics
- An understanding of relevant design codes and standards such as DNVGL, Eurocode 3 etc.
- Programming knowledge is desirable
- Experience with FEM is required
- CAD experience as basic user
