APM Terminals is an important link between Scandinavia and the world market, and we operate Scandinavia's two largest container terminals. We are the only ones with the capacity to receive and handle the largest ocean-going vessels. APM Terminals Nordics handle more than 50% of imports and exports in Denmark and Sweden. Your employment will be with APM Terminals Aarhus, you will be reporting directly to the Managing Director for the Nordics.

  • Lead, support and manage the business. To help you, you have six direct reporting managers and together you are responsible for a total of approximately 220 employees.

  • Empower the team with leadership, resources and tools needed to successfully meet goals.

  • Design, plan, and implement business strategies, plans and procedures

  • Take the lead in change management


Key responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the organization's operations to ensure productivity, operational efficiency and development of the Container Terminal in Aarhus

  • Key focus areas include: Vessel& Container Yard Operations in Aarhus and Kaldenborg, Facility and Equipment Maintenance & Repair, Information Technologyand HSSE.

  • To have focus and influence on the APMT long-term strategy including high level commercial focus, customer service as well as change management and a constant dedication to safety for all who utilize and visit the terminal. Ensure compliance with HSSE policies & procedures.

  • Establish and implement current and long-range goals, objectives, plans and policies of Terminal operations and development.

  • Define, develop & execute local strategies for the terminal in Aarhus, in line with & contributing to the company vision & strategy, within the borders of business plan & budget.

  • Participates as a key member of any steering committee for new projects and initiatives•

  • Deliver a level of service to customers that is higher than expectations.

  • Ensure a cost-efficient operation and process optimization and improvement.

  • Responsible for setting and achieving the budget for the reporting functions.

  • Ensure that the business adheres to APM Terminals world standards.

  • Measure and monitor performance against critical criteria, policy and guidelines established by APM Terminals.

  • Together with HR liaise with labor unions


Who we are looking for
We believe you’re a mix between an operations and people person with a proven track record of running operational processes and teams in an effective way. You have a business mindset and you’re an inspirational leader. We believe you’re the type of person who naturally takes ownership and has a lot of passion for what you do. You’re ambitious and have a growth mindset. You have the ability to get things done and you’re always willing to help people around you become even better.

You have a strong commercial mindset and good communication skills with the ability to communicate across the organization. Experienced in cost and productivity optimization through process optimization and you have an understanding of other finance related matters. Experience from operational responsibility in a global organization will be valuable. You have a strong analytical and data-driven mindset that translates into effective decision making and problem-solving.

Probably you have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, logistics, business or similar, and we think that you have worked at least 10 years in relevant area.
In regard to languages, you need to be a strong communicator both writing and speaking in Danish and English.
