About the Department

We are on a journey to take the S&OP process to the next level. Our ambition is to become a trusted supply chain business partner that optimises the end-to-end supply chain with reliable data and transparent trade-off decisions. We have already taken several actions to put weight behind our execution and in the beginning of next year we will start to roll-out our new Integrated Business Planning solution that will accelerate the S&OP process.

The department is residing in the Supply Chain unit within Product Supply. Currently, we are transitioning into a new team setup that will comprise of two teams focused on different value steams: Diabetes Value Stream & Biopharm & Device Value Stream. We are responsible for several key processes that includes the launch process, sales & operations planning, regulatory flexibility and long-term end-to-end optimisation process. We are around 23 colleagues in the department from seven different nationalities with various educational backgrounds.

The Position

As Senior Supply Chain Consultant and S&OP Business Partner for Diabetes Finished Product (DFP) you will be responsible to drive the S&OP process for Diabetes Finished Products while optimising the end-to-end diabetes network together with the Global End-to-end Planners. You will act as a trusted business partner both to the sites and the central business support in DFP. That means you will translate the SVP area strategy into relevant actions and it also means you will flag risks and opportunities in an end-to-end supply chain perspective.

You will drive the preparation of decisions material and present it to senior management. It will often be triggered by a demand and supply imbalance or an optimisation of the supply network. You will work very closely with the Global End-to-End Planners that crunches through large amount of data in the Integrated Business Planning Solution. Together you draft a long list of ideas how to solve the imbalance and you will be responsible to ensure a good collaboration with the cross-functional stakeholders.

The aim is to ensure proactive planning to secure uninterrupted supply to patients globally at competitive cost, efficient asset utilisation incl. right inventory levels while supporting the Circular4Zero agenda and without comprising on quality & compliance. This also includes to ensure a robust supply chain and sufficient regulatory flexibility.

A work cycle could look like this: You start off with demand handover meetings with the different sales regions. You ask questions to get a better understanding of the assumptions behind a sudden increase in the demand. Before meeting with the production sites to align on the future supply outlook, you review the historical performance data and discuss scenarios with the Global End-to-end Planners on how to solve the imbalance. She has prepared a few scenarios and outlines the impacts on the different metrics. You prepare the decision material with a few scenarios, simple explanations and ensure a good stakeholder collaboration.

You will also be involved and drive various supply chain improvement initiatives to ensure a more optimal utilisation of the global supply chain network. You will drive structured problem solving, identity various ideas and solutions to the problems and drive the implementation in agreement with the decision council or steercos.

Qualifications

To be able to successfully drive the processes, initiatives and optimise the end-to-end network, we imagine you have;

  • Master’s Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance or similar
  • Minimum of 6 years relevant work experience from an industry leading company or a top consultancy
  • Solid business understanding combined with hands-on work experience within Supply Chain or Operations
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with an innovative approach to problem-solving and outside-the-box thinking
  • Have a sharp eye for details and a strong analytical mindset
  • Excellent collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Clear and concise communication skills
  • Fluent in both written and verbal English
