Maersk Growth is a CVC and the external innovation arm of A.P. Moller –Maersk. We invest in and partner with startups to digitize, democratize and decarbonize logistics. As a strategic investor we provide funding for startups working in the transport and logistics space. We support thinkers and doers who focus on global challenges by nurturing startups that apply new business models and technologies to transform trade – but our buck doesn’t stop there.

As our new Head of Strategic Insights you will live and breathe all things strategy at Maersk Growth and join Sarah’s team. Sarah is our Operating Partner and responsible for everything post investment. The stuff before is handled by our awesome investment team. You will play a key role in identifying strategic future opportunities for Maersk and the next big thing and broaden our horizon beyond what we know today (i.e. help us look up from the daily grind).
You’ll:
o Be the driving force of collecting, sharing, and delivering actionable strategic insights to key Maersk stakeholders, catering to the varying needs of different stakeholder groups.
o Drive the continuous review of our strategic direction and align with key internal stakeholders in Maersk – you will become the Maersk Growth expert on regional, product and vertical strategies – and a key liaison for our colleagues
o Be our key input provider on strategic value assessment for all investment decisions. In other words, you’ll have a key role in terms of determining the future composition of our portfolio. Did we mention we just started our Fund II…
o Own select strategic projects with Head of Growth and Operating Partner (e.g. BOD and ELT presentations)
o Lead a small team and help your team members shine and grow

We believe you’ll thrive in this role if you:
- Have years (we’re thinking a handful) of experience from a Tier 1 management consulting firm, comparable in-house set-up or similar tenure in a business-oriented role in Maersk (sales, product or operations)
- Have a genuine passion for and interest in the start-up and investment ecosystem. If you have had your own business, worked with a start-up or have VC experience, well then double-yay!
- Have an energetic, confident and positive personality with excellent communication and presentation skills – you naturally own the room and people love listening to you
- Have a strong internal network, business acumen and the ability to speak Maersk. Not a pre-requisite, but definitely a plus
- Are like a fish in water when we talk stakeholder management! People love to work with you!
- Have the ability to deal with high degrees of ambiguity in a fast-paced environment where priorities (and scope) can change in an instant (and it tends to …)
- Have proven project management skills and a strategic mindset – you get to the root cause faster than most – and then you get going i.e. you have impressive drive
- Are able to navigate Excel and PowerPoint in your sleep – you transform complex messages and data into simple, yet convincing presentations
- Are fun and a fixer – you find the (or at least ‘a’) way – and you own it!
