To support this exciting endeavor, we are currently looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to join our Automation platform team. Please note this role can be performed from anywhere in Europe

Being part of a fast growing, dynamic and impactful team, you, as Senior Engineering Manager, you will be entrusted with the unique opportunity to building, managing, focusing, and developing an engineering team that meets the needs of the business and works well within the overall automation technology landscape. You draw from a deep and broad technical expertise to mentor engineers, complete hands-on technical work, and provide leadership on complex technology issues in the company. While deploying your solid skills in automation engineering, product design and product deployment/delivery, you focus on building and nurturing great engineering talent and make a difference on a global level.
Key responsibilities
• Responsible for providing technology leadership to the team to ensure products and platform services get built based on defined specifications, terminal operations requirements, and automation industry best practices in a timely manner.
• Develops maritime automation engineering competencies within function to ensure support of projects and services.
• Delivery accountability and implementation ownership of our IoT and Automation Platform for the enablement of APM Terminals modernization/automation initiatives, products, and deployments.
• In charge of defining lean way of working (WoW), processes & systems to manage workstreams that drive automation platform development.
• Drive compliance & adherence to processes amongst the staff.
• Engages in dialogue with external stakeholders such as suppliers, consultants, and terminals to develop new service areas in close collaboration with APM Terminals Business Development, Modernization / Automation Program and Project Execution
• Drives delivery of new products and product deployment through management and coordination of internal resources and enforcement of automation requirements/standards and supplier/vendor service level agreements
• Drives engagement and performance within multiple projects
• Has responsibility for automation solution/product design for automation projects and tenders including providing total costing
• Work with partners, product owners, scrum masters and the scrum team do release and sprint planning and provide team commitments accordingly
• Work closely with APM Terminals teams, peers & stakeholder on regular basis to bridge the gap between technology and business.

• Drive the cross-functional cooperation to attract world-class talent and provide leadership and technical guidance, career development, and mentoring to team members to build and maintain top performing and engaged team.
• Work with the team to publish research and represent Maersk at top-notch professional venues.
• Have financial and budgetary responsibility for area of delivery.
We are looking for
• A total of 10+ years of terminal automation industry experience with 5+ years of experience in architecting and/or developing and delivering end to end products/solutions for ports and container terminals.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in managing teams with a successful record of building and leading effective teams
• Expertise in providing operationally critical technology services on the industrial automation solution side.
• Experience in automation, Automated fleet controls, Execution Systems and Equipment Control Systems hybrid cloud set ups for large scale industries
• Experience in building solutions which can be horizontally scalable, distributed, resilient, fault tolerant and monitored
• Expertise in modern automation technology instrumentation and controls; operation data acquisition and safety systems; automation integration and automation control/execution systems
• Experience in building solutions in an agile/DevOps environment as well as managing teams in that space
• Good understanding of device attributes hereunder performance of equipment under circumstances of industrial environments
• The ability to continually identify team improvements (retrospective analysis, maturity assessments and OKR’s
and KPI’s) and proactively manage the process and performance and act on stakeholder feedback.
• An understanding of the trade-off between technical investments and continual delivery of business outcome
• The ability to provide direction, support, and guidance for others hereunder mentor, code-review and contribute to product development
• Independently lead automated solution design, resource planning and estimation
• Understanding automation industry trends and relevant innovations in solution delivery methods
• Excellent communication and cross-functional cooperation capabilities – a team player with positive Can-Do, result-oriented attitude
• Experience with Information Security management - Maintain the data confidentiality & integrity and relevant compliance of information systems.
• Understand product lifecycle implementation of OT/Automation architecture solutions and associated industry (IT/OT) industrial automation standards
