You can be a pivotal part of this amazing journey! We are looking for an Innovation Manager for our global Landside transportation business (road, rail, inland waterways) to join our Logistics and Services Decarbonisation Team.
Working in our Decarbonisation team means you are working on something pretty exciting: shaping Maersk’s journey to reduce climate impact of our logistics services while driving exciting innovations such as electrification and automation.

More about the role
As an Innovation Manager for our Landside transportation business, you will join the Logistics and Services Decarbonisation team and work closely with our Landside transportation teams in our Headquarter (Copenhagen, Denmark) and across the globe. You will be basically responsible for scouting innovative transportation technologies (e.g., e-trucks, charging infrastructure, …), providing technical expertise for our roadmap and implementation, managing our innovation and R&D project portfolio including coordination of local execution and taking part in research collaborations.
Our target is to achieve net zero in 2040 – a highly ambitious goal for a global road, rail and barge business. To achieve this, we work closely with more stakeholders in other functions such as procurement, sales, platforms and technology, Maersk Growth – our venture capital arm and many more.
You’ll be the pivotal point to drive our innovation agenda and managing pilots with our local teams.
You will:
- Drive Maersk’s scaling strategy for electrification in trucking, rail and barge, identify new business opportunities from technologies and derive actions to accelerate transition
- Scout for innovative solutions in relevant fields such as electrification of road / rail and inland waterways transport, charging and fueling infrastructure, and assess fit for our roadmap
- Establish and manage the innovation pipeline, prepare project and investment, and coordinate local execution
- Provide deep technical expertise for business model development and to take part in research collaborations, e.g., EU-funded project for autonomous trucking
- Use your leadership skills to establish strong partnerships with start ups, technical solutions providers, and other established industrial players
- Prepare analyses to drive decision making, and prepare and present management reports
- Support internal communication and training
- Be a natural point of contact and sparring partner for Maersk stakeholders on technologies to decarbonise landside transportation
We believe you’ll thrive in this role if you:
- Have a background or developed expertise in electrified or autonomous transport
- Have 3+ years of experience in innovation management or research projects
- Have collaborative leadership skills and impeccable stakeholder management skills – you can drive decision making while managing cross-functional, local teams
- Have project management discipline which is second to none
- Have a curious mindset and is eager to create and share knowledge
- Love a good challenge and handle ambiguity with a smile
- Are well versed in PowerPoint and Excel
