We are eagerly looking to bring in a Global Patient Relations Lead to develop and grow engagement with patient leaders and organisation as well as strengthen the patient voice in the work we do.
About the department
We are part of the Global Public Affairs and Sustainability unit and are a team of diverse and passionate individuals who are responsible for patient engagement and patient advocacy strategies and activities. We develop long-term strategies and partnerships with patients and patient organisations that could have a positive and successful impact on patients and their outcomes. Additionally, we facilitate inclusion of patient voice within Novo Nordisk´s drug development processes and all relevant lifecycle functional responsibilities.
The position
The Global Patient Relations Lead will be responsible for partnering with key patient organisations who are working in alignment with Novo Nordisk ´s mission to defeat diabetes.
The primary function of this role is to liaise with diabetes and cardiovascular patient groups and their constituents on unbranded programs, resources, support and services available from Novo Nordisk for an assigned brand or diabetes type.
This will require fostering relationships with these organisations and developing collaborative plans for partnership including tangible deliverables. Key internal stakeholders include Public Affairs, Global Medical Affairs, Patient Access, Corporate Communication and other Commercial or R&D members as appropriate.
Main responsibilities:
- Implement a comprehensive diabetes and cardiovascular Patient engagement and advocacy strategy in support of Novo Nordisk´s mission
- Build and sustain valued partnerships between Novo Nordisk and prominent Patient Advocacy Groups;
- Foster relationships with internal, cross-functional stakeholders in order to best determine how patient engagement and advocacy may generate new business opportunities;
- Act as the patient insights specialist in the assigned disease and therapeutic area teams by deeply understanding the unique needs, experiences and outcome of patients
- Raise Novo Nordisk external profile as a credible, innovative patient engagement and advocacy partner
Qualifications
What you’ll bring to the role
- At least 7 years of experience from pharmaceutical industry and/or NGOs, preferably in a similar role
- Working knowledge and appreciation of the complexities of the drug development process and regulatory requirements as well as access challenges and role of patient organisation in the Healthcare system. Must exhibit knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal issues relevant to patient engagement.
- Outstanding writing and communication skills with the ability to distil and present complex information in a clear and convincing manner for diverse audiences.
- Excellent interpersonal and project management skills.
- Adaptable/flexible and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong drive to achieve superior results.
- Successful experience or demonstrated understanding in advocacy/public policy.
- Ability to think creatively and bring innovative solutions to business challenges.
