Now is your chance to join the Isotope Chemistry team, where we are looking for a new Development Scientist. Get introduced to CMC Chemical Development and meet some of our employees by visiting our career site The position In this position, you get a unique chance to work with radiolabeled drug substances. As our new Development Scientist, you will – in close collaboration with team members – design and modify synthetic routes to safely incorporate radiolabeled atoms (3H, 14C or 125I) into various APIs of interest and manufacture the radiolabeled drug substances in our facility. As our new development scientist, you will get hands on experience with our laboratory equipment
be involved in maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting of our isotope equipment
get responsibilities within the team’s quality management system (QMS) which is a requirement for our GMP productions. This includes day-to-day tasks, such as writing change requests and deviations.
As a new employee in our team, you will go through a systematic individual training based on your current qualifications. Qualifications
You hold a master’s degree or PhD in Organic Chemistry. Experience from working with isotope chemistry will be an advantage. You have practical experience within peptide synthesis and/or protein modifications as well as relevant analytical methods. You are a dedicated team player who inspires trust and respect amongst colleagues and partners. You are good at creating working relationships with internal and external stake holders. You meet your deadlines with a structured approach, while you keep an overview – also in a changing and busy environment where priorities can be quickly changed. You dare to challenge us in our way of working and have a desire to take initiative.
On the personal level you are a positive and curious individual, with a quality mind-set. You have good communication skills, and you want to contribute to our team’s social environment. Lastly, you are a structured person with the ability to ensure careful execution and thorough documentation of experimental work.

About the area In Chemical Development, we are responsible for developing the synthetic processes required to produce the active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) for Novo Nordisk's new and innovative product portfolio. These processes encompass chemical modification of recombinantly-produced proteins, as well as chemical synthesis of peptides, oligonucleotides, small molecules and novel excipients. Our work spans various stages of development, from clinical trials to commercial manufacturing. As we expand into more synthetic API production platforms, Chemical Development is becoming an increasingly significant growth area for Novo Nordisk. Our team in Chemical Development currently consists of 80+ chemists and laboratory technicians, and we have access to state-of-the-art chemistry laboratory facilities in Bagsværd (DK) and offices in Boston (USA). Our facilities enable us to support various types of work, including isotope chemistry, scale-up productions, and standard process development.
