If so, then please read more as this might be the right opportunity for you!About the department The Omics Technologies department is part of the Translational Research area within Global Translation, which is responsible for identifying clinically relevant biomarkers and generating high-quality biomarker data to guide decision-making in research and early development. You will join a team of dedicated scientists and laboratory technicians who apply untargeted and targeted approaches to drive biomarker discovery, qualification, and quantification across all therapeutic areas within Novo Nordisk’s R&D value chain. The working environment in Global Translation is dynamic and innovative and involves interactions with colleagues from research sites in the US and China, with an excellent opportunity to establish a strong scientific network.The position In this position, you will work closely with colleagues in R&D Translational Teams to deliver a robust biomarker strategy within various therapeutic areas of Novo Nordisk and to develop, implement, and execute biomarker plans in support of relevant projects. You will be responsible for mapping out the needs from the translational and therapeutic areas, setting up in-house untargeted/targeted metabolomics/lipidomics workflows, and engaging with external partners and CROs to execute study plans. To succeed in this position, you will require deep expertise working with metabolomics/lipidomics as well as experience engaging with external partners and CROs. Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Representing Omics Technologies Department in R&D Translational Teams, bringing technical know-how and strategic insights to guide decision-making in developing and executing on biomarker plans.
  • Mapping and engaging with internal stakeholders from translational and therapeutic areas to define strategies for in-house setup and external metabolomics/lipidomics activities.
  • Coordinating activities from projects as well as at the portfolio level across R&D value chain, serving our stakeholders by offering expertise, tapping into internal capabilities and external resources.
  • Developing and applying all aspects of metabolomics/lipidomics workflows including experimental design, sample analysis, data analysis, and submitting data for presentations, reports, and publications with accuracy.
  • Leading the development and optimisation of new technologies and data analysis platforms.
  • Leading collaborations and communicating effectively with experts from a variety of technical backgrounds.
  • Collaborating closely with department scientists, laboratory technicians and Translational R&D and project teams.
  • Qualifications You hold a PhD in pharmaceutical sciences, biochemistry, analytical chemistry or related disciplines with extensive research experience in biomarker discovery/ quantification, applying LC-MS based metabolomics/lipidomics methodologies. You must have experience working in a matrix team in a pharmaceutical R&D setting.To be successful in this position you can recognise yourself in the following:
  • Expert knowledge within metabolomics workflow including sample preparatory methods, operating LC-MS instrumentations and analytical software.
  • Strong commitment to high-quality analysis and data handling.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills to navigate in project teams, collaborate across multi-disciplinary areas and engage with key stakeholders to generate insights to guide strategy.
  • Ability to develop innovative solutions to new challenges and independently drive projects and portfolio-level initiatives to completion.
  • Ability to apply strategic thinking and execution in a complex matrix organisation with various therapeutic areas with changing priorities and technology landscape.
  • Ability to communicate with clarity and impact.
  • Ability to gain recognition amongst stakeholders with enthusiasm, proactiveness, integrity, and communication skills.
  • It is considered an advantage if you have experience working with automation technologies, targeted approaches and LC-MS-based quantification and biomarker discovery in a pharmaceutical setting.As a person, you are a team player, ambitious, focused on results and thrive in a dynamic research environment.
