If you can say ‘Yes’ to above, then you may be just the one we are looking for to drive Category Management within the category Electrical and Automation across the A. P. Moller – Maersk group of ships.

As a Category Manager you will be responsible for establishing the procurement strategy for Electrical and Automation together with the various APMM entities and run the sourcing projects resulting from that strategy.

In addition, you will be expected to be the specialist in the Source to Contract process and support senior Category Managers with larger projects.

As a Category Manager for Electrical and Automation you will be working closely with our Electrical design and support team to drive our technology transition and to accelerate the decarbonization of vessels operation.

You will be part of the new building team securing that only the best suppliers and technology is installed on our vessels. Further you will actively facilitate the evaluation of new technology and suppliers for your area.

You will be part of a very experienced team in Maersk Procurement- Marine Supply Chain & Category Management. With a long track record of driving procurement very professional with a strong focus on automation, decarbonization and ESG agenda.

This position is based in Copenhagen, Denmark and some travel can be expected to visit suppliers and to engage with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities


We are looking for an experienced project and/or category manager who is passionate about Electrical and Automation systems, and has the knowledge, curiosity, and experience to impact the business.

Your responsibilities include:

- Executing sourcing projects for retrofit and upgrades on existing vessels
- Million USD $ vendor negotiations and offer evaluation based on APMM strategies and value for money evaluation criteria.
- Development and implementation strategies for repair and maintenance agreements within your category
- Driving makers management and negotiate best possible benefits agreement for our vessel new building program.
- Ongoing management of internal and external stakeholder relationships with a strong emphasis on creating partnerships and cooperation’s that create competitive advantage
- Analysis and interpretation of spend and supply data to measure performance, drive optimization, and continuous improvement on a global level.
- Facilitate and evaluate new technology and suppliers
- Driving supplier performance and handling and resolving conflicts constructively.

We are looking for


This position is well-suited to an individual with strong interpersonal skills, capable of developing and influencing internal and external relationships.

You must have a proven track record of planning and executing projects in an international matrix organization.

You have ideally worked with category management with in technical categories and have good understanding of the industry, key technology trends.

You have a strong commercial mindset with a natural focus on achieving the most cost-effective solutions for the business.

Experience with in the marine industry or other heavy industry will be considered an advantage.

Your educational background is BSc or MSc in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or similar.

Furthermore you:

- Are a team player, who understands the importance of stakeholder management, can build rapport at all levels even in challenging situations and can encourage and influence others without authority
- Have an entrepreneurial mindset and strong analytical skills.
- Are able to take ownership, work independently in a structured manner and achieve concrete results.
- You can handle risks and uncertainties and are flexible in adapting when priorities change. You feel comfortable challenging the status quo and are motivated to lead change.
- Are an excellent communicator in English both in writing and in speaking.
