The Technical Documentation Department is a part of Service in Vestas, which is responsible for sales, design and installation as well as service of wind turbines.
The Technical Documentation Department is globally responsible for writing and maintaining all global service documents. The department, which you will be responsible for consists of 7 employees in US, Germany and India as well as several external consultants. The main focus of the department is to deliver high technical documentation and technical drawings quality.
The management team consist of 3 managers plus the director of the area. The team work closely together and operate cross functionally.

Responsibilities
- Lead a team of writers to develop and maintain the skills and knowledge required to produce large, complex documentation suites that address customers’ business needs, support industry regulatory requirements, contribute to product value and are delivered on schedule
- Work with multiple departments to ensure the team’s abilities and processes are develop as needed to support future business direction and to ensure requirements for team’s successful involvement with project teams are included in project plans
- Ensure internal initiatives and external stakeholder projects are completed on time, meet or exceed standards, and are within budget; handle escalations, and provide direction to team in obtaining information needed to complete tasks
- Identify and evaluate tools, processes and metrics to enhance team efficiency and accuracy, ensure the team is engaged in change processes and trained appropriately for successful implementation
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with diverse groups
- Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with the organisation’s policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees and addressing complaints and resolving problems
Qualifications
- 10+ years' experience in technical writing and editing
- Bachelor's Degree in English, technical writing, business or related field
- Preferable experience in people management skills, including coaching, listening, collaboration, and adjusting to changing business priorities
- In-depth understanding of technical writing and editing process, competencies, knowledge, and skills
- Expertise in principles of structuring information and in documentation and business processes.
- Strong skills in setting, communicating, implementing and achieving business objectives and goals through the direct management of others
- Ability to manage people with a range of personalities, cultures and skill levels to help them grow as writers. Including strength to hold people accountable to processes and quality standards while working to address the needs of the business to deliver content

- Good communication skills, since you will be managing people from a distance and interact with many stakeholders at different levels
