The Vice President will report to the Senior Vice President, Obesity. The position is based in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The Position

The Vice President of HCP Marketing will realize the full potential of our Obesity brands (Wegovy®, Saxenda® and oral Sema) by defining and leading the execution of the global brand strategies focused on HCP marketing throughout their lifecycle, including implementation of global commercial activities, and launch excellence. Scope includes global marketing deliverables, brand budget, HQ and operations stakeholder management and agency management. Furthermore, the Vice President of HCP Marketing will be responsible for preparing all launch plans for the obesity portfolio and sign off the individual launch plans for all top 10 focus countries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the overall brand strategies for Novo Nordisk’s obesity portfolio
  • Ensure the development and execution of market development activities focused on HCPs
  • Drive launch planning (LAP) process for all top 10 obesity focus countries
  • Ensure development of overall brand strategies based on new clinical data and indications
  • Drive Core Commercialization Teams, Core Brand Teams, and other commercial related forums where affiliate interactions take place
  • Lead the HCP marketing area with focus on strong performance, personal development, and high level of engagement
  • Understand market trends including digital opportunities and generate actionable insights on our customers and patients

Qualifications
To thrive and succeed in this role, we expect you to have

  • Master’s degree in life science or business
  • 10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry from global commercial areas, especially within Brand Management targeted at HCP’s
  • Experience from working within commercial or scientific/medical affairs functions in a global complex matrix organisation
  • 7+ years of experience in leadership positions, ideally experienced from leading leaders
  • Experience working cross-functional with R&D, marketing, pharmaceutical products, or medical devices with international exposure in a large global organization
  • Experience from global functions with strong cross-functional involvement
  • Experience working with digital trends and development within strategic branding
  • Fluency in written and spoken English

The Obesity Unit provides strategic leadership for the current and future obesity care therapy area worldwide and is accountable for commercial strategies for obesity and the Obesity Business plan. The mission of the Novo Nordisk Obesity Unit is to change how the world sees people with obesity and to make obesity a healthcare priority. We strive to develop and commercialize a leading portfolio of superior treatment solutions for those living with obesity.
