Do you have New Product Planning (NPP) experience from the pharmaceutical industry and an interest in further evolving and improving the function across all of Novo Nordisk’s therapy areas? Would you like to take on an Anchor/Cross-functional role that offers the opportunity to work across multiple TAs and take on a diverse range of tasks?
If so, this is your chance as we are looking for a New Product Planning Lead/Associate Director.
Start your application for a life-changing career! The job
This role will serve as a cornerstone of the NPP function and play a critical role in ensuring that Novo Nordisk maintains industry-leading NPP capabilities. The position will involve working on both classic NPP early projects and a cross-functional “NPP Anchor” role.
As Lead/Associate Director you will engage with a wide variety of stakeholders, including senior management. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to influence and shape the future of NPP at Novo Nordisk.
The NPP's cross-functional responsibilities include:
• Leading the process for the annual value assessment (through financial valuations) of the late-stage pipeline by coordinating work and deliverables across therapy areas as needed
• Initiating and facilitating NPP improvement projects across commercial therapy areas - focusing on various NPP frameworks, methodologies, and deliverables for assessing pipeline assets, including the incorporation of the '5Ds' elements (drug, device, digital, diagnostics, and data).
• Training NPP colleagues in making financial valuations and use of commercial frameworks
• Owning the valuation methodology and ensuring transparency and alignment with the relevant departments (e.g. business development, strategic finance)
• Implementing and maintaining the valuation methodology in a new cross-organizational portfolio-management IT system which is currently being designed, by collaborating with external vendors and internal departments
Beyond the cross-functional responsibilities, you will spend time on traditional NPP projects, to ensure continuous experience with practical use of the tools on actual development projects. The NPP's responsibilities include:
• Being Commercial Lead on early pipeline projects, including development of: Target product profile (TPP), Early positioning, Estimation of sales and patient potential, and Full project valuations (NPV and eNPV) for mature projects.
• Participating in portfolio assessments and development of commercial guidance to research, as well as contributing to the annual value assessment of the late-stage development portfolio. On a daily basis, you will work in a global context but interact primarily with headquarter functions across a diverse network of internal colleagues from Research & Development, Commercial, Market Access & Pricing, Strategic Finance, Regulatory, Medical, and Product Supply. You will report to the Head of Diabetes NPP. Qualifications
Ideally, you have the following qualifications:
• A master’s degree in Economics / Finance / Business / Natural sciences or other relevant subjects
• At least 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, with a background in both commercial and clinical/science roles (or roles that intersect the two areas)
• Experience in a New Product Planning function and/or with management/strategy consulting is crucial
• Excellent project management/stakeholder management skills, strong influencing skills as well as verbal/written communication capabilities
• Hands-on experience with financial valuations in the pharmaceutical industry, a proven track record of designing and scoping valuations and supporting business cases
• High proficiency with PowerPoint and Excel as well as fluency in written and spoken English
At Novo Nordisk, your skills, dedication, and ambition help us change lives for the better. In exchange, we offer you an opportunity to work with extraordinary talent and benefit from a range of possibilities for professional and personal development.
Physical presence is required in our offices in Copenhagen (Søborg), Denmark- only candidates who are willing to relocate to the Copenhagen Area will be considered.
You can expect some limited travel days per year.
