In Blade Integrity team we are looking for a highly skilled composite expert. The Blade Integrity team works on cutting edge technology in an international environment. The job will expose the engineer to a wide range of tasks allowing personal and technical growth and achieving a deep understanding of wind turbine blades. The Blade Integrity team is part of the Blade Structural Design Department which is responsible for the design of new blades, development of core technologies, support to factories and warranty case handling.
How to contribute to our vision
As Blade Structural Integrity Engineer, you are expected to take a leading role in the development team for blade structural design. You are expected to engage in different phases of blade design, e.g. conceptual design, detailed design, prototyping, testing and certification. In that process, you will align on technical decisions with the department chief engineers. You understand the design drivers of blades and use a structured approach to extend them. What are my responsibilities?
You have a value chain approach to optimize the product holistically in collaboration with various different stakeholders, in production, procurement or service. During your employment at SGRE you will be involved as technical specialist in a variety of technology development projects.
What you need to make a difference
Passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change. We are also looking for a mechanical or aeronautical engineer with solid understanding of light weight structures and composites. As a candidate for the position, you should have a flair for both automation of work and continuous improvement. Experience with systems engineering is considered as a strong plus.
Excellent English skills both orally and in writing are a must in the international team, and it is of highest importance to communicate your results in a clear and convincing manner. Furthermore, you have a structured approach to your work, can handle multiple assignments simultaneously without losing overview and you are driving your work independently.

- Ownership and maintenance of large offshore blades in production and service
- Develop and implement cost out and quality improvement measures to offshore blades in serial production to improve product competitiveness.
- Design and validation of defect allowable thresholds and criteria in large offshore blades
- Wind turbine blade inspections and defect characterization
- Development of inspection techniques for large offshore blades in production and service
- Offshore business support through sales, service and operations cross functional collaboration
- Development of inspection, retrofit and repair methods for wind turbine blades in service
- Proactively maintain interfaces with Supply Chain, Laboratories, Blade test center, product integrity and service
