Industrialisation Test & Verification Power Train & Module Integration Testing
The Test and Verification department within Vestas Wind Systems A/S plays an important role towards verification of components, modules and products.
In order to optimise testing, we bring field conditions into our test centre and expose them to functional, performance and reliability testing.
Vestas test centres are some of the world leading facilities within testing of turbine main components (gearbox, generator, converter, etc.) and include several test-rigs with the capability to test components separately or as complete wind turbines up to 20MW.
In Test and Verification, we are 100+ highly motivated engineers, specialists and turbine technicians who are responsible for planning, executing and troubleshooting during test campaigns.
Furthermore, our team is responsible for specifying and building up new test capabilities to continually ensure that Vestas products have the highest quality in the wind market.

Responsibilities
Assume overall responsibility for Gearbox (GBX) and bearing testing at Vestas
- We expect you to take the full responsibility of the future test and validation of our gearboxes and bearings. You will build up a subprime collaboration with our Drive-train department and other relevant stakeholders to ensure continuous alignment both on the operational and the strategical
- Develop test strategies, methodologies and procedures for gearbox, bearings and lubrication systems in close corporation with Vestas' gearbox designers and other partners
- Contribute to simulation model building and validation to continuously develop virtual validation capabilities
- Provide technical guidance to the operational teams to ensure highest quality in test, while optimising the utilisation of the industry's most advanced test facilities
- Analysis and documentation of test results to ensure that fulfilment of Vestas' performance and reliability targets are proven
- Root cause analysis for failures in close corporation with designers, suppliers and laboratories, incl. evaluation on impact on performance and reliability
- Drive overall Test & Validation activities in New Projects as well as project management of own projects
Qualifications
- Master or bachelor’s degree e.g. mechanical engineering
- 5+ years’ experience including practical and theoretical insight in GBX, bearing and lubrication technology - in particular failure modes
- Knowledge of systematic reliability validation
- Knowledge in test and verification methods
- Measurement techniques particular for the specialty
- Dynamic modelling

- Strong communicator with engineers, technicians and other stakeholders
- Fluent in English, verbally and written
- Lead activities by close cooperation with engineers, stakeholders and external partners.
