Mechanical engineer for Hot End with focus on:
• Scoping and pricing small projects
• Designing special/tailor made mechanical solutions
• Making documentation both drawings and CE-marking
• Supplier follow up
• Site/installation supervision
• Running in supervision
Join us to work on small and largescale projects from A-Z as part of a great team of talented engineers. And grab this opportunity to travel the world to see your work implemented.
Stepping through the doors at our HQ in Hedehusene, you will be the latest member of Group Technology (GT) – which is part of the main ROCKWOOL International organisation. Here, our GT departments work together to create and deliver machines and production equipment as well as entire production lines for our international production sites.
Within GT, you will join the ranks of our Hot End, Fluids, Waste & Abatement department, where you will become part of our engineering team, which is responsible for some of our core in-house production equipment, e.g. spinners, spinning chamber, curing oven, etc.
“Counting several different nationalities among us and working from different sites, you’ll find that we’re an international but very close-knit team. If you need help or someone to bounce ideas off, there is always someone ready to give you their two cents,” says Department Manager Søren Ballisager.
As our new mechanical engineer, you will be responsible for delivering key equipment used in our stone wool production. Becoming our expert on – and key provider of – design solutions, you will work on projects varying in both size and scope. You will thus be responsible for design, specification, time, budget and quality for your scope in the project.
Throughout a varied workday, you will take an active hand in all phases of the projects, fiddling with the design to get it just right, making drawings, getting the right components and traveling to supervise implementation on-site.
More specifically, it will be up to you to:
• Participate in small machine delivery projects as well as support large international green field factory projects
• Analyze production equipment needs and production challenges
• Produce mechanical designs for specific equipment
• Communicate with suppliers of parts for our equipment to place orders and follow up to secure compliance with specific design needs
• Travel up to 100 days per year to Europa, North America, Russia and beyond to supervise implementations on-site, as well as to support and collaborate with international colleagues
• Partake in budgeting and the development of tender material for suppliers
With your collaborative nature, you are able to work efficiently with partners and colleagues across professional divisions and geographical borders. At the same time, you possess great communicative skills and the ability to make decisions on your own, thus being able to drive projects forward both independently and through others.
You always strive to reach the highest standards of quality and are highly organised in your tasks, enabling you to deliver on time, again and again.
Moreover, we imagine that you:
• Have 5+ years of experience from a similar position, working with mechanical design, machine construction, design specifications and 3D modelling using Inventor or a similar programme
• Hold a degree in mechanical engineering, and it is a great plus if you also have a background as a smith, mechanic or other type of craftsman
• Are fluent in English¨
We have 80 years of experience developing and leading products within the stone wool industry. Our equipment is unique, and we will of course make sure you are properly introduced to our processes and the inner workings of our production equipment, earning you a lot of new knowledge and insights.
You also get to join a strong community of supportive colleagues and experts sharing an international mindset. Lastly, you will be part of an organisation offering personal and professional development with a high degree of empowerment and multiple internal career options.
