About the department
Innovation is a growing unit in Novo Nordisk. The team itself is a part of Digital Incubator & Innovation area. The team focuses on three main areas. Creation of an innovation-lab that brings cross-disciplinary teams together, building a passionate culture and a patient-centred mindset. Establishing space for experimentation, supporting initiatives that challenge status quo and leverage new technologies. Technology & partner scouting to help augment our internal processes and ultimately support patients.

Core focus is to remain forward-looking and showcase strong adaptability. Furthermore, the team works in a highly agile manner and must be able to shift its focus based on rapidly changing opportunities and threats within emerging technologies. Consequentially, you should expect the team structure to be dynamic as well.

About the job

As an Innovation Consultant, you will drive early stage innovation projects using leading innovation tools and methods – most often taking a role as a digital product manager. You will incubate cross-functional initiatives from discovery to ideation, to proof of concept, to pilot, in an environment where priorities and tasks change a lot – so maintaining a structured overview will be key.

You will facilitate ideation processes, ranging from lean innovation workshops to Agile ceremonies. You must convincingly and clearly communicate to stakeholders across the business and act as a trusted advisor with a strong understanding of business challenges and constraints. You can expect a high level of responsibility and exposure in this role. Innovation is a strategic area in Novo Nordisk and the industry is in fierce competition.

What we expect of you in this role:

  • Simultaneously drive 2-3 digital projects where you will support the business in their innovation and commercialization journey – offering digital and technical expertise
  • Communicate fluently and interact fluidly with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Create and present articulate and communications that drive change (project & steerco presentations, project proposals, etc.)
  • Servant leadership of product teams of developers, data scientists and design professionals
  • Vendor scouting, selection and management for driving digital products
  • Conduct continuous research & analysis of emerging digital technologies & assess how those impact our innovation roadmap
  • Create or facilitate the creation of rich, interactive prototypes of ideas and concepts
  • Rapidly de-risk & validate ideas & concepts via Lean Start-up methodologies
  • Planning & executing lean experiments to generate real-world evidence

Qualifications

We are looking for a person with deep digital expertise and experience and passion for driving and communicating disruptive innovations – particularly within the pharma industry. A person who can tailor messages to relevant stakeholders from various levels of authority and digital understanding. Strong analytical, technical and business skills are needed to navigate the landscape of technologies and translate uncertainties into tangible opportunities for Novo Nordisk.

Formally, we expect you to have 4 - 5 years’ digital experience – preferably within innovation, consulting, product management, or project management, a relevant Master’s degree, rooted in technology and/or innovation management, constant upskilling and a track record that looks something like this:

• Working on or driving disruptive innovation projects from idea to launch

• Taking ownership and driving results with the ability to perform in high-pressure
environments

• Knowledge and passion for digital trends

• Experience in developing relationships and working with multiple stakeholders on high-profile,
cross-functional and multinational initiatives

You should also be well-articulated, have excellent business English skills (oral and written), and be able to move stakeholders ranging from technically minded colleagues to C-level executives. Furthermore, you must be able to navigate between changing landscapes internally and externally – with an eye for win-win-solutions that truly matter.
