Department overview
You will join the Digital Accelerator (DA), a unit in Digital, Data & IT acting as a trusted advisor and partner on software development ventures helping the business areas realise digital aspirations. Novo Nordisk continues to invest in in-house built digital products and in the DA, we are partnering with the business to bring digital innovation ideas to life and mature our ways of working within digital products.
We are four dedicated DA areas responsible for designing, developing, and operating digital products in collaboration with the business i.e., Research & Early Development, Development, Product Supply and Commercial.
We are looking for thought leaders who are eager to drive maturity within digital engineering and have passion for leading people within this field – someone who can set the direction, provide guidance, and drive people development. You will become a part of an inspiring, and ambitious work environment, where modern software development methodologies, tools, teamwork, and a growth mindset is key.
What’s in it for you?
You will be working with sophisticated business challenges in Novo Nordisk’s digital area and will be exposed to stakeholders across the organisation. By utilizing your leadership skills and knowledge about software development and digital product management you will play an instrumental role in strengthening software engineering leadership in the DA, helping product teams challenge status quo and adapt best practices in collaboration with our Capability Leads.
Moreover, you will manage tactical and operational needs from the product teams – direct people management, recruitment, team health, rotation, and capacity planning across the DA. You will report to the Head of Digital Accelerator – Development who has the overall responsibility for business partnering and continued development of the DA; you will be a sparring partner, co-driving the recommendations and strategy for how we execute.
Your key responsibilities are to: Manage approximately 15 Designers, Tech Leads, Software Developers and Agile Coaches, and ensure well-being and development of employees Partner and collaborate closely with the business (i.e., Head of Product, Product owner and the Scrum Master) to create the best possible environment for high performing product teams Support and engage product teams to adapt best practices and improved ways of working in collaboration with Capability Leads Be responsible for the product teams and being the escalation point for business partners Support business and the delivery organisation with sparring and support in handling delivery or execution challenges Develop and driving the DA people strategy incl. sourcing of talents – make/buy, partnering and/or growing talents internally, as well as recruitment, retainment, attraction, and rotation
Candidate profile
We expect you have: You have a master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or other related fields Minimum 4-5 years of solid experience within software development, DevOps and digital product management Proven track record of leading teams specialised in software development and operations.
You also possess strong stakeholder management and communication skills, and advocate convincingly about the value of software design and DevOps practices, particularly to stakeholders who are used to making decisions based on cost or efficiency as a central purpose for new initiatives.
