The position
To meet the increasing demand for current and future treatments, we are looking into expanding our manufacturing footprint in Denmark. Our Biotech and Rare Disease (BRD) division is looking for a Construction Safety Partner to systematically improve and ensure continuous compliance, optimal designs and zero accidents in construction and in operational phases of large projects.
Reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) department in BRD, you will be responsible for leading the planning related to ensuring safe projects in collaboration with Project Managers, end users, external parties and the EHS organisation in Novo Nordisk A/S.
Your key tasks will include: Timely and competent EHS involvement in project design, planning and execution of construction projects/shutdowns. “Safe to build” and “safe to operate” design in project material/tender documents. Follow-up on requirements to ensure contractors comply with EHS contract obligations. Implement internal construction requirements & procedures in Biotech and Rare Disease (BRD). Reporting on EHS performance in construction projects, as well as planning and execution of audits within the EHS area. This is an exciting challenge and a chance to make a lasting impact. You will be joining a well-established and growing area in our company, involved in designing, planning, re-building, and building new facilities.
The opportunity is based in Gentofte, but you can expect to spend several days a week at other DK sites. Qualifications
An academic degree with 3+ years relevant experience within EHS from other projects with large contracts and high complexity, preferably from the pharma/biotech industry but we are open to other industries/organisations where processes and activities are centred around high standards of EHS.
Other experiences include: Project management with good EHS competences within construction safety. Solid knowledge on work environment legislation in construction management. Experience as work environment coordinator at construction sites. Experience with constructability and efficient management of HS-plans. Knowledge of ISO standards e.g., ISO14001 and ISO45001 Fluency in English and Danish, both verbal and written. As a person you have a fundamental desire to make a difference within the construction area. You see yourself as having high personal drive able to work independently and can pursue key focus areas. You aim to create vast networks across the organisation through strong relationships.
About the department
You will be part of an ambitious EHS department which consist of 12 great colleagues working as Health and Safety Partners, Construction Partners or Environmental Partners. You will report to the EHS manager in the department, but your daily work will include a high degree of independent tasks in an organisation with high complexity.

Our employees are highly valued partners for the business. We go where we are needed the most – collaborating with production and central functions.
We are approximately 45 colleagues who support the production with the important areas of strategy, communication, finance, cLEAN® and EHS. We bring value to patients by having the high-level overview across BRD and by supporting production within key areas with highly skilled partners to make operation run as smooth as possible in collaboration with local colleagues. We drive change by always looking for hidden potential and anticipating opportunities before they are lost and challenges before, they grow. Working at Novo Nordisk
At Novo Nordisk, we don’t wait for change. We drive it. We’re a dynamic company in an even more dynamic industry, and we know that what got us to where we are today is not necessarily what will make us successful in the future. We embrace the spirit of experimentation, striving for excellence without fixating on perfection. We never shy away from opportunities to develop, we seize them. From research and development, through to manufacturing, marketing, and sales – we’re all working to move the needle on patient care.
