The position
Novo Nordisk is expanding production capacity at an unprecedented rate and to support that growth we are now looking for a new Environmental Consultant to support with ESG due diligence and post-closure integration activities in close collaboration with Line of Business in Product Supply.
In this role you will join a highly skilled, well-established team responsible for ensuring Novo Nordisk Environmental Compliance and Sustainable outcomes for investment/ expansion projects. The team is anchored in Environment and Social Sustainability (ESS), part of Product Supply Quality and IT (PSQIT). Together with your colleagues you will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to define and ensure efficient, well run due diligence process resulting in clear recommendations and well anchored relevant ESG integration activities for acquisition projects.
Specifically your key tasks will be to:
• Take an active role in the due diligence team collaborating with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
• Quickly understand the key information about potential acquisitions and develop the framework for ESG due diligence with support from local internal/ external experts including local Consultants supporting the project.
• Quickly grasp and understand the relevant international regulations and local context on acquisition sites and integrate this knowledge in the global assessment process together with local experts.
• Define and execute on the relevant activities to establish an overview of key risks and potential mitigation activities including but not limited to the environmental assesment of and feedback on: Issues/ challenges on seller site(s), Relevant permits and terms – current state and future requirements, Supply (waste, wastewater, water, steam, energy etc.), Compliance requirements and alignment with Novo Nordisk’s environmental strategy, Circular for Zero.
• Recommend a ‘go/ no-go’ decision to the project based on documented, fact-based results from the assessment.
• Create a detailed plan including needed resources for related integration activities according to due diligence findings.
• Act as valued sparring partner for Novo Nordisk production and other internal stakeholders to drive a smooth efficient process.
• Adopt a continuous improvement approach to capture key learnings and develop relevant processes to ensure a more comprehensive, value adding DD process and timely handover to relevant internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
We imagine that a successful candidate is experienced in project management and thrives in a fast-paced, changing environment and has:
• 3-5 years of experience within M&A, preferably with ESG Due Diligence and integration planning and implementation activities post-merger.
• Experience from a global organization within ESG, Sustainability, Environmental Compliance or similar.
• Full proficiency in English.
