The position
We are establishing a brand new Center Of Excellence (CoE) within the area of "Distributed Control Systems" (DCS) in production at Novo Nordisk. As a System Architect, you will play a key role in designing solutions in the DCS CoE. Our overall goal is to strengthen the Novo Nordisk DCS area by gathering knowledge, developing standards and providing the best possible agile and organizational fit for teams and specialists who support factory operations and drive projects within the DCS area.

Your primary tasks will include

  • Develop and maintain a standardized architecture for rolling out DCS across different Novo Nordisk sites
  • Review and support validation test protocols and reports for projects and patch upgrades
  • Participate in and/or review test execution to ensure the right level of quality
  • Assess complex technical environments and define requirements for integration of new solutions, maintenance and optimization of systems


In your work, you will lead deployments and deployments of solutions that often involve multiple internal and external components. Lead the architecture design processes and develop and implement IT solutions. Adapt the solutions and facilitate sharing of best practices, knowledge and visions between the locations that distribute solutions from the DCS CoE. You will also focus strongly on non-functional requirements, uptime, ease of use and reliability. Think like a Site Reliability Engineer.

You can look forward to a dynamic agile-oriented (Scaled Agile Framework) where you can expect some travel now and then.

Qualification

  • We expect you to have a master's degree in a relevant discipline, e.g. Computer Science, Software Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering
  • You have worked in a similar position for minimum 3 years in the Pharma industry with good results.
  • 1+ years of experience with agile methods preferred
  • Experience with DCS (e.g. DeltaV, 800xA) and/or other production systems will be an advantage
  • You generally have good practice within IT & Automation and are used to working with GxP validation of IT systems in a regulated production environment


On a personal level, this position requires a strong commitment and ability to make decisions, often in a consensus-driven and political environment. Furthermore, it requires being self-motivated, structured and goal-oriented with a high degree of flexibility.

You use your empathy and excellent general and IT understanding to transform complex technical challenges and requirements into workable solutions. Therefore, you need good communication skills that enable you to discuss complex IT issues with non-IT colleagues in written and spoken English; Knowledge of Danish will be a strong asset.

About the department

The purpose of the new department,” Distributed Control System, Centre Of Excellence” (DCS CoE ), is to strengthen the Novo Nordisk DCS domain by gathering knowledge, designing standards and providing the best possible agile and organisational fit for teams and specialists who support factory operations and run projects in the area of DCS.

As part of the DCS CoE, you are part of Manufacturing IT – Production, working with colleagues across other OT (e.g. SCADA) and IT (MES) domains to drive operation and project execution excellence across our global production footprint. Overall, you will join the rapidly evolving and growing Manufacturing IT area, where over 800 employees are working across the globe to revolutionise IT and OT across our production and supply chain domain in Novo Nordisk.

Anchored under (DD&IT) Digital, Data & IT, Manufacturing IT is the trusted IT partner for our production sites and supply chain colleagues worldwide in Novo Nordisk. The position is based in Denmark at our Headquarters in Bagsværd, but with colleagues across many countries, you will have a global career path and international development opportunities.
