Our Chicago location is looking for a Sr. Analyst of Contract Operations. The Sr. Analyst of Contract Operations is responsible for the authoring, implementation and maintenance of GPO bids, contracts, pricing agreements and contract analysis for the Contracts and Pricing organization and will provide occasional support to the Legal Department. Position will also have significant interaction with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain and Senior Management in developing understanding of customer contract trends and in analyzing profitability of associated customer agreements.

The Sr. Analyst is responsible for implementing contracts within the contracting system and then monitoring contract operational performance. The Sr. Analyst will partner with the Sales team to drive incremental revenue through creative contracting strategies, ad hoc analytical requests, and participating in customer calls as needed. Sr. Analyst will support Contracting Management team on special projects including, planning, bids, pricing policy, contract compliance and 3rd party operations. This position will work within a matrix structure and will often interact with various functions within Xellia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable for direct end-customer contracts in the following manner: development of contractual language, system set-up of pricing, volume commitments, incentives, etc.
  • Manage IDN Bid process & price challenges, collaborating in a cross functional environment with Sales, Marketing, and other key commercial functions
  • Responsible for the completion of contract packages and Pre-Qualifications forms due to Vendor
  • Review terms and conditions on contracts for accuracy, completeness and conformity
  • Work with legal, finance, supply chain, risk, etc. to ensure compliance and alignment with commercial policies
  • Implements and maintains all aspects of contract lifecycle i.e. fully executable, price changes, membership rosters download, amendments, termination, product additions/deletions, salesforce contract database, monitoring contract compliance and maximize sales performance, etc.
  • Liaison to 3PL teams to new contract notifications, administrative fees/rebates, membership discrepancies, class of trade fallouts, etc.
  • Use Salesforce.com, Tableau and other databases and tools to obtain, prepare, compile and analyze information
  • Complete contract terminations upon written notification and/or estimate upon request per the contractual agreement
  • Support Field Sales organization for ad hoc contractual requests
  • Actively participate in processes to ensure a high rate of accuracy within the contracts department
  • Provide operational support to Marketing in conjunction with the implementation of product launches and promotional pricing
  • Support Contracting team on special projects and ad hoc requests, as needed
  • Occasionally provide assistance with contracts, filings, registrations, and other legal matters under the supervision of the Legal Department

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (4-year) required, MBA, paralegal, or equivalent experience preferred
  • Notary public registration in Illinois or ability to obtain registration within three months of hire required
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in contracting, sales, marketing, and/or finance, ideally in US sterile injectable market. Knowledge of government contracting, government price reporting and contract administration a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to work with various levels of management, and able to understand customer needs and business opportunities
  • Position requires strong analytical, problem solving, time management, and project management
  • Must have the ability to work in fast pace environment, have excellent organization skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and drive continuous process improvements
  • The ability to develop, balance and understand the outcomes of individual decisions and actions, which may impact cross functional teams and downstream results
  • Strong business understanding of the US Institutional channel for generic pharmaceuticals and/or medical surgical products, ideally sterile injectables
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel, Powerpoint, and Microsoft Word. Salesforce.com and Tableau is preferred
  • Interest in legal matters or paralegal certification a plus but not required
