Senior Automation Engineer for the Technology Engineering team

About the department
The department is part of Novo Nordisk’s Research & Development (R&D) family and acts as a link from research to the future of our production systems. Our ambition is to improve diabetic patients lives by developing the world’s finest medicine.
The position is anchored in ‘QC Technology and IT’ in Måløv and you will be joining a team of 15 highly skilled innovators, interns & students with different scientific backgrounds, ranging from data scientists to control and automation engineers. The team is responsible for building laboratory automation to enhance capacity; allowing us to meet a growing target for the development of oral pipeline of products and preparing us for the future of manufacturing.
The position and responsibilities
As an Automation Engineer, you will focus on automating processes in a laboratory and a production setting. You will take part in implementing large- and small-scale automation solutions in Novo Nordisk’s future laboratories.
Some of your tasks will include hardware integration, PLC and robot programming. You will be in charge of system development, from requirement specifications to bench testing. You will also act as a lead for design specifications. Finally, you will support qualification of new automation solutions.

Qualifications and skills
Ideally you have:
- A Master’s degree or equivalent in Engineering (Automation/Electrical/Robotics/Mechatronics or similar)
- 1-3 years of experience in developing automation, robotics or mechatronics systems
- Strong skills in programming PLC, HMI, SCADA systems
- Experience with industrial robots
- Knowledge of filed-bus systems and industrial communication protocols, including OPC UA, IO Link, EtherCAT, Ethernet I/P, Modbus etc.
- Hands-on experience interfacing and troubleshooting drives, sensors and control hardware
- Good understanding of IT connectivity: networking, domains, firewalls etc.
Additionally, it may be considered as an advantage if you have:
- Experience working in a highly regulated industry and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
- Familiarity with FDA regulation 21 CFR Part 11 and/or EU Annex 11
- IOT knowledge
- Knowledge of electrical drawings
