As a Category Lead, you will drive procurement and supplier relationship excellence within Novo Nordisk commercial space with exposure to senior stakeholders, and will have ownership of your own category – which will be determined based on business needs and your profile and interest, with expected changes throughout your journey in the position. The role requires you to revamp our supplier relationship management program, execute it for your own suppliers, and support the team to do the same for their categories. Hence you will have a special focus on some of our biggest suppliers, bring in best practice, and ensure a strengthen focus on supplier collaboration. In addition to the above, the job entails that you:
  • Manage your category by performing complex sourcing projects (scoping, e-sourcing, negotiation, and contract management) and by establishing a category strategy
  • Identify and drive large strategic projects to create value at scale
  • Manage supplier relationship - including supplier segmentation and strategy development and execution of planned activities
  • Assess opportunities in global categories, with focus on financial impact, digitalisation and sustainability and think outside the box when doing so.
  • Interact with global senior stakeholders and senior leadership for international suppliers
  • Coach colleagues and take a proactive role in the continuous development of the department and our team

    To be successful in this position, we expect you to have:
  • A master's degree in economics, business administration, supply chain management or similar
  • 8+ years of experience in procurement, preferably with supplier relationship management
  • Experience from a large and international company
  • Exposure to senior stakeholders
  • International mindset, work analytically, and communicate clearly in English
  • Alternatively, solid experience as key accounts or background in some of our biggest suppliers
  • This position can also be scored differently based on qualifications, so do not hesitate to apply if you have more/less experience than described above.     Corporate Procurement is responsible for the indirect spend in Novo Nordisk. consists of 120 employees based in Denmark, 140 employees in India, and globally 500 people work in procurement.
