Århus C

The Centre for Digital Transformation in Cities and Communities (DITCOM) works with research and innovation projects and partnerships that address the digitalisation that is increasingly shaping our cities and communities. The centre is organisationally anchored at Aarhus University’s Faculty of Arts, School of Communication and Culture and has a human-centric approach to digitalization and technology applications.

The centre is based on a quadruple helix model and has a strong cross-disciplinary and international profile with an office in Brussels. We collaborate with numerous stakeholders in Europe and beyond. We coordinate several large European research and innovation projects, such as SynchroniCity (synchronicity-iot.eu) and Next Generation Internet of Tings (ngiot.eu), where we create a roadmap for IoT in Europe for the period 2021-2027. We lead communications in the Interreg project SCORE (northsearegion.eu/score/) and are founding member of the global smart city network Open & Agile Smart Cities (oascities.org) and the Creative Ring (creativering.eu).

As our activities are rapidly growing, we are looking for a full time (37 hours/week) assistant project coordinator and team lead with experience in Danish and European research and innovation programmes, starting October 1st or as soon as possible thereafter. The initial contract covers 10 months (until July 31st, 2020), with a possibility of extension.

Tasks include
  • management of research and innovation projects in close cooperation with the lead project coordinator and local staff;
  • daily communication with international and Danish project partners;
  • project progress monitoring;
  • preparation and processing of technical and financial reports;
  • maintenance and update of project web sites;
  • organisation of teleconferences / project meetings / workshops / conferences;
  • assisting with project proposals preparation.


Experience and skills
  • Master degree, preferably related to management;
  • 2+ years of experience as project administrator, event manager, or team manager (Experience with European Commission research and innovation programmes is an asset)
  • fluency in English (both verbally and in written), experience with working in a Danish environment, other languages are an advantage;
  • good computer literacy and skills;
  • strong communication, presentation and organisational skills;
  • structured;
  • flexible;
  • ability to work both in team and independently;
  • ability to work in and lead an international environment;
  • willingness to travel
