You will have a unique opportunity to work in a truly global business and play a significant role in motivating our salesforce by rolling out and anchoring our newly revised global sales compensation plan across geographies and brands.

You will be working closely with Sales Operations Managers across the globe and have indirect influence on our 2500 sales resources in Maersk.

In the role as Sales Compensation Manager, you will have a direct impact on how we design, enhance, and automate our sales compensation plan. You will be lead point of coordination for getting all M&A onboarded onto the sales compensation plan and work with a variety of stakeholders to help accelerate the adoption and impact of the plan across all brands.

The main goal of this role is to contribute to sustaining and growing business in line with the Maersk global integrator strategy by incentivizing all our salespeople in a fair and motivating way.

Key responsibilities


• Ensure that colleagues joining Maersk from recent M&A are integrated into the global sales compensation program and that the program can be conducted seamlessly through the automated sales compensation system flow. Key focus of this role is to ensure that all sales colleagues from all Maersk entities are enrolled into the global sales compensation plan.
• Provide strategic guidance and direction and a clear roadmap for the future sales compensation setup in Maersk.
• Support the successful administration of sales compensation programs globally while proactively building partnerships, fostering open dialogue, and providing creative solutions to issues in real time.
• Ensure that the entire sales community is engaged, trained, and aligned on what products and services can be offered as part of the sales compensation plan.
• Look for ways to innovate and improve compensation processes and make decisions based on data and sound metrics.
• Partner and work closely with sales leadership, sales operations, finance, HR, and legal teams to execute on new and existing sales compensation design and be responsible for enforcing policies and driving consistency in policies, processes, data quality and administration.
• Continuously monitor and look for ways to modernize standardize and automate processes related to sales compensation.
• Deep understanding of our sales compensation policies and procedures and ability to foster learnings and best practice sharing across a matrix organization.
• Act as change agent, for organisational, business and process transformation.

We are looking for


The ideal candidate will have a BSc/BA in business administration, sales, business analytics or similar -a Master’s Degree in a relevant field is a plus.

You have 4+ years of experience in Sales Operations, Sales Management or Sales Compensation roles.

Functional experience with CRM/Salesforce.com and an ICM system (Xactly, Varicent, etc.) is an advantage.

You have demonstrated experience in successfully implementing change in complex organizations.

You are a self-starter and capable of working independently. You are comfortable motivating and involving people through existing and imperfect channels of authority. You have the ability to influence without authority and strong interpersonal skills with aptitude in building relationships at all organizational levels.

You are forward-thinking, creative, and energetic; capable of getting stakeholder buy-in and alignment to standard processes and best practice.

You have the ability to lead a group in finding the resolution of abstract and complex business problems. You are a team player who thrive when working with cross-functional and multi-cultural teams.

You have strong project management and planning skills with the ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently.
