About the job
In support of Saxo’s significant business growth, we are looking to hire a strong C# engineer into the Margin & Exposure Team. This is a great opportunity for a talented developer wanting to work on a stimulating engineering challenge while gaining unique front office experience at a leading Financial Technology firm.
The Margin & Exposure team is responsible for the Front Office Risk Management platform comprising:
- Automated Pre-Trade Authorizations
- Client Portfolio Monitoring and Liquidation
- Saxobank Exposure Calculations
- Real-time Portfolio Data provider
These services are critical to the “24/7” Saxobank Trading Engine and are subject to high demands regarding availability and latency.
The team has sole responsibility for designing, developing and maintaining solutions to meet these demanding requirements, with a particular focus on:
- Multi-threading / concurrency
- Correctness
- Performance in terms of throughput & latency
- Stability
- Memory allocation / garbage collection
- Continuous deployment / delivery
Based in Copenhagen, you will a join a team of highly skilled and dedicated engineers, who promote an open & curious atmosphere and welcome innovation and new ideas.
Your profile
Experience & Attributes Required:
- Computer Scientist or Software Engineer
- Strong background across C#
- Experience in developing easy-maintainable mission critical server-side systems
- Experience in writing C# optimized for minimum garbage collection intrusion
- Knowledge of multi-threading beyond parallel “for each”
- Open and collaborative attitude
Nice to have but not essential:
- Experience of message bus architecture
- Knowledge of Trading / Real-time risk management
- Experience of Continuous Delivery / Deployment and Agile development practices
Background – Trading Systems
The Margin & Exposure team is a part of the overall Trading Systems team. Trading Systems manages real-time, low latency and complex business functionality changes across all asset classes available in Saxo Bank including Order Management Systems, real-time Risk Management systems, connectivity to Brokers and Exchanges across the world, business logic components and low-level trading infrastructure components.
Trading Systems = 120 People / Divided up across – Copenhagen, India & Amsterdam

- CFD (Contract for Difference) / EQ (Equity Swap)
- Fixed Income,
- Futures & Options
- Front Office Risk Management and
- Automated Market Making
Our in-house designed and built Saxo Bank trading system handles:
- over 60,000 concurrent online trading clients 24 hours per day / 5,5 trading days per week
- more than 160,000 unique monthly users to our social trading portal
- more than 600,000 price feed updates per second
- intraday average execution and booking of up to 3500 trades per second
- over 1,300,000 trade transactions processed daily
