The role is part of the global Contract (CL) Leadership team and has a global responsibility to drive the long-term Contract Logistics investment plan, in partnership with the stakeholders. The owner will develop and establish the global infrastructure, tools, standards and processes to plan capacity and volumes for the Contract Logistics network and to drive its optimization. Further, the owner will be involved and support strategic investment decisions.

This is an exciting opportunity. You will be responsible for thought leadership and a long-term vision for the network optimization and supply chain planning infrastructure. You are also accountable for driving the development of network optimization and simulation tools, processes and models to provide recommendations for contract logistic investments for our customers but also the Maersk overall network. In addition, you work across the global organization in a cross-functional environment, partner with cross-functional teams: Customers, Finance, Tech & Platform Teams, CEN Product & Growth & Functional Operations, Regional & Area teams.

You will be responsible for creating the long-term investment plan for Contract Logistic globally in partnership with the stakeholders. You focus on benchmarking Maersk fulfillment practices against best-in-class operations, develops and implements process standards and cost structure improvements for global network adoption. You are also accountable for building and maintaining the Network optimization infrastructure, in partnership with the system teams, and reports up-to-date and accurate management reports, statistics and analysis.
Other key tasks:
• Innovating and maturing new concepts jointly with customers and operational and commercial functions for the customers and Maersk product network.
• Responsible to drive execution of the roadmap map for network optimization and supply chain planning for Maersk.
• Involved and supports strategic investment decisions.
• Own the input factors for the models related to historical/future business trends, cost and network flows.
• Prepare and facilitates the regular strategic network review and updates to the management.
• Assess simulation results and the business impact of trends driving investment decisions.
• Define metrics to measure optimization performance and drives continuous improvement.
• Lead a team of analysts/managers to deliver the roadmap for Maersk and its customers.

The ideal candidate has a Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations Research, Business Analytics, or a related field.
You:
• Have 10+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Logistics Management and E-Commerce with intensive people management experience.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills and experience in driving decisions with cross-functional leadership and lead Senior Management reviews and updates.
• Work experience in Project and Program Management.
• Work experience within a network planning or logistics/operations management role.
• Sound business judgment, proven ability to influence others, and strong analytical thinking skills.
• Ability to prepare, report and interpret large sets of planning data.
• Proven experience in data mining, Excel (Pivot Tables, VLook) and SQL and experience working with IT professionals.
• Strong proficiency to communicate and negotiate in English.
