Key Responsibilities

We are looking for a colleague who is motivated by reducing complexity, sees opportunities for continuous improvement and drives changes forward with a collaborative mindset and using strong stakeholder management skills.

Reporting to the Head of Marine Quality, Environment and Safety you will play a key role in ensuring that Maersk Fleet Management & Technology operate fully aligned with our policies, objectives and commitments.

You will act as Manager for the Safety Management System (SMS), keeping it effective, concise and updated.

Other key tasks:

  • Proactively ensure that learnings are captured, shared and applied
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives where needed
  • Carry out work in close co-ordination with relevant departments and stakeholders, internal as well as external
  • Mentoring the organisation in how to write procedures that are clear, concise and provide needed support to our frontline
  • Support the organization in widening the scope of certification as deemed necessary
  • Setting up and maintaining controls and documentation procedures
  • Provide familiarization and training for the Safety Management System when required
  • Drive the internal quality assurance process (management review, Master’s review, action implementation and improvements) across the company, both for vessels and shore establishments.
  • Responsible for external and internal office audit program including certification (DOC, ISO etc.) and ensure follow up on findings.
  • Identify, plan and execute other Quality projects needed to support the company to meet future challenges associated with envisioned Fleet growth.

Who we are looking for

You have solid strategic understanding and demonstrate proactive approach to continuous improvement and addressing future challenges and opportunities around ship management and compliance.

You are thorough and have a keen an eye for details while keeping overall view to strategy.

You have strong stakeholder management skills and you take ownership, find solutions and drive project forward independently.

You are assertive yet pragmatic and you are a strong communicator in English both verbal and in writing.

As a person you are a team player, who values contributing to an excellent working environment, with ongoing focus on personal and professional development.

You likely have a relevant degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations Research, Business Analytics, or a related field. Similarly, we imagine that you have 3+ years of experience working with operational processes, quality management, quality control plans or similar problem-solving or risk assessment methodologies.
