The role of the Software Engineer


As a Software Engineer within our Developer Platform team, you will be a developer helping to deliver a new and innovative developer platform for Maersk. You will work to deliver features and enhancements to our core platform all while running this system with a high level of availability and reliability. This role will provide a platform to developers to deploy software all over the world in minutes.

As a senior engineer, you will demonstrate the following characteristics:
• You are creative and come up with innovative approaches to projects and any issues that arise.
• You are a “do’er”. You get things done.
• Sharing expertise and insight with other engineers.
The ideal candidate will has a background in development. We are looking for software engineers with a desire to jump into the infrastructure world. Familiarity with the following tool chains is a plus:
• DevOps - Git and Github, Github Actions
• Observability – Metrics, Logging, Tracing, Notifications
• Backend – APIs and Microservices, CLI , Java


Key Responsibilities



• Contribute to the core development system to enhance the experience of a developer building applications
• Build software in Java Springboot
• Participate in daily Agile routines
• Participate in proof-of-concept activities
• Contribute to documentation and team routines


Key Skills



• Knowledge of CI/CD systems
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Programming Experience
• Excellent communication skills, solid work ethic, and a strong desire to write production quality code.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, supported by excellent written and oral communication
• Demonstrable high levels of integrity


Additional Competencies



• Eager to learn
• Self starter
• Ability to pick up new technologies quickly with a “dive right in” mentality
