You will lead our Rail Systems division in Denmark
As our new colleague and member of the Rail Systems leadership team you will participate in all aspects of management including setting strategy, delivering the business plan, operational performance and driving the Danish region wide annual HR processes and business improvement initiatives.
Working from Ramboll’s global headquarters in Copenhagen, the key theme for you will be profitability and growth, as you will lead the development and performance of the Danish Rail Systems Division. In your role as Division Director you will be responsible for the leadership and development of the unit including key client management, development of operational excellence, business development as well as enhancement of professional and commercial leadership.
Your primary report will be Ramboll’s Global Division Director for Rail Systems and your secondary report Country Market Director for Transport, ensuring cross-border collaboration within Rail and cross-function collaboration within the various Transport disciplines, offered by Ramboll in Denmark.

Rail Systems is part of Ramboll’s global transportation consultancy business consisting of close to 3,000 bright minds, all working on some of the biggest and most innovative infrastructure projects in the world.
You will be part of a leadership team for a global organization consisting of 240 rail experts located in Norway, Denmark, Germany, UK, Sweden and India. We provide professional engineering, design and consultancy services for a complete range of rail systems – from high-speed rail to urban transport systems, such as metros and light rail. We combine our expertise within rail consultancy with all Ramboll’s other service areas, allowing us to deliver totally integrated transport solutions in our home markets and globally.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be to:
- Represent and promote Ramboll in the Danish market
- Support the Global Division in meeting its international aspirations
- Lead the Division, based on Ramboll’s values and operational model focusing on digitalization and sustainability
- Ensure Ramboll’s quality and ethical standards, acting as a role model and implement robust processes, corporate governance, a high-performance culture and a commitment to delivering excellence for clients
- Develop the strategy, business plan and budget in alignment with the Ramboll Transport strategy
- Manage the top client relationships and the strategic partnership and JV for the market
- Operational responsible for Rail Systems in Denmark; report and forecast against budget monthly/quarterly, enforce risk governance
- Select, mentor and develop management and key talent in the Division
- Provide leadership to sector employees and support services employees in the countries
- Develop close relationships with other Ramboll Business units and provide guidance and support to all Ramboll Business units working in relation to this market
Your starting point for constant growth
From the moment you join Ramboll, we will support your personal and professional development so that you grow with the company. For this role, we believe your starting point is:
- An internationally recognised postgraduate degree in engineering or related field
- 15-20 years’ in-depth experience with the management of employees in a knowledge business, either as Director or Head of Department
- International experience and experience from working in the rail industry – preferably from consultancy, though this is not a prerequisite
- Fluency in spoken and written English
