Vestas Power Solutions Blades Module Blades Design Blade Structures
The Vestas wind turbine is created out of multiple important and complex parts - one of them being the blades. To ensure that Vestas always has state-of-the-art blades that ensure the maximum energy capture of the turbine, we have approximately 125 Engineers that every day put their efforts into inventing, creating, and designing these blades. Through this process our Engineers also ensure that we can produce the blades in our factories and transport them around the world. This is a fascinating and intriguing process going from the "drawing board" to an actual blade being installed on a turbine somewhere in the world. Our Engineers delivering these blades are the best and most skilled Engineers in the world - and we are proud of what we do.
Some of these great, highly skilled, dynamic, multi-cultural Engineers need a new Manager to look to when they need guidance, empowerment, support, and help. As Manager/People Leader, you will head up the part of our Blade Structures team that is based in Denmark. The team delivers the structural design, which enables the blades to withstand the harsh loads and environments expected of our industry leading products.
The DK-based part of our Blade Structures team has in total 5-8 Engineers who will be reporting to you. As these employees are primarily based in Lem in Vestjylland, you will be spending most of your time where these employees are based.
You will report to the Senior Manager of Blades Design, who is based on the Isle of Wight in England, which is also where other team members are based. This means that there will also be some degree of travel activity to England.

We are not specifically looking for a technically skilled person able to talk to the employees on a technical level, however it is of course a benefit. People Leadership
- Line management responsibility for all recruitments and changes
- Take part in the yearly wheel of line leadership tasks, e.g. Employee Survey action planning, merit increase, and Continuous Performance & Development Dialogue
- Facilitate, coach and support personal and professional development for all individuals in the team
- Secure the optimal working conditions for the team by working and communicating effectively cross-functionally to optimise interfaces, processes, and stakeholder interactions for the team
- Handle allocation of resources in the team to the projects in which we do our blades development
- Administer people-related tasks such as vacation and sickness
Business Leadership
- Take part in forming the relevant strategies for the functional area
- Convert strategy into action-oriented objectives for each employee and follow up to ensure targets are met
- Follow general performance of the team in periodic performance reviews
- Participate in financial activities
- Secure the right competency level in the team that matches the current and future business needs
- Continuously manage stakeholder relationships throughout the value chain
- Engage and sometimes drive continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications

- Proven successful track record in managing and leading others to success, preferably teams of 5-10 people or more
- Experience with leading Engineers or other highly technically skilled employees
- Educational background that has secured an analytical and holistic approach
- Experience in navigating between multiple stakeholders in large companies
- Professional background in big multinational corporations is preferred, but not mandatory
- Advanced level in English both in speech and in writing
- Knowledge of Jira and/or MS Project is an advantage
