The Lundbeck Foundation Geogenetics Centre (LFGGC) has a vacant position for a project manager with experience in larger research projects. The position is temporary (1 year) starting October 1, 2019.
Background
The newly established LFGGC, headed by Professor Eske Willerslev, combines world-leading research groups in ancient DNA, biostatistics and genomic analysis, headed by the professors Rasmus Nielsen and Thomas Werge, respectively. The LFGGC will map the DNA from skeleton remains from thousands of prehistoric human beings in order to acquire knowledge about brain disorders (see: https://www.lundbeckfonden.com).
The position
We are employing a qualified, highly motivated and committed full-time project manager with solid experience from larger research consortia, preferably with experience from big-data/high-throughput groups.
The position includes the following essential functions:

Terms of employment
The employment as Project manager (Academic employee FU) is a full time position and starting date is 1 October 2019 or after agreement. Employment will be in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). The monthly salary will be based on the number of years of work experience (seniority).
The position is temporary (1 year) starting October 1, 2019, and is a full-time position 37 hours a week.

The position includes the following essential functions:
- Develop, update and disseminate project plans including procedures, forms and tracking systems for resources in all core activities (e.g. staff, functions, samples, data).
- Track progress and ensure transparency in project documentation, and access to information and data.
- Ensure and facilitate coordination between core leaders; organize and facilitate/lead meetings, prepare agenda, distribute summaries.
- Participate in strategic analysis and planning with leadership and core leaders to overcome bottlenecks and anticipate challenges.
- Participate in the preparation of proposals, project reports and contact to the press department.
- Interact with the Center- and Institute administration and central University departments (e.g. Finance, Tech transfer).
Qualifications
- Academic background (e.g. master or PhD) from engineering or science preferably in logistics or other with experience from big-data/high-throughput.
- Documented experience with management from large research (or development) projects.
- Strong management and communication skills as well as a strict adherence to strong ethical business and research practices.
- Self-motivated, highly organized, strong attention to details and with excellent time management skills.
- Demonstrated decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English (and optionally Danish).
- Excellent collaboration skills.
