About Biostatistics function area
The Biostatistics function currently consists of approximately 250 statisticians and statistical programmers globally. Of these, 170 are situated in Denmark, where we are organised in departments supporting our development projects (e.g. GLP-1, Insulin, Haemophilia or Obesity). The Biostatistics function consists of statisticians and statistical programmers in roughly equal split.
Novo Nordisk has a broad R&D pipeline and majority of our statistical work is done in-house, thus we offer a wide variety of programming challenges and provide a strong scientific community supporting clinical development. We are organised in smaller units for each clinical project to ensure close collaboration with our various stakeholders.
The position
As Statistical Programmer your overall focus is to turn complex data into clearly organised reports providing insights and recommendations for your colleagues. You will do this by developing programs mainly in SAS for preparing and reporting clinical data for statistical analyses. You will be preparing output for aggregated documents and publications as well as supporting regulatory commitments. Additionally, organisation and submission of data in accordance to international data standards (CDISC) is an important task for the Statistical Programmer.
You will be involved in coordination and supervision of the deliverables from contract houses around the world performing outsourced programming tasks. This requires good coordination and planning skills combined with the ability to work in a flexible manner. You will naturally have the spirit of cooperation, respect for your fellow colleagues and a genuine will to win as a team. Your contributions will support our projects all the way from initial idea to final reporting.
We also look forward to your contribution to the continuous improvement of methods, processes and knowledge sharing.
Especially, for this position, you will be a part of the biostatistics team working with Novo Nordisk large cardiovascular outcome trials. You will be working across several large clinical trials and take the lead om several different tasks such as data and programming alignment, efficient trial closure, potential submission related activities and thereby be in close collaboration with colleagues from biostatistics, but also from other skill-areas such as data management, medical writing, medical and science etc..
Qualifications
You have a M.Sc. or Ph.D. within science, IT or a related area and extensive knowledge of programming and handling of databases. Five or more years of experience with biological or clinical data either within research or development is highly appreciated, and of these preferable 3+ years of experience with SAS or R programming language and analysis programming within clinical development as well as submission experience.
You write efficient, well documented and standardised computer programs. Furthermore, excellent analytical skills as well as an understanding for data structure are a necessity.
You can work independently, take responsibility and show initiative. We expect you to be able to overview several challenging tasks in parallel without compromising the quality of your work and that you remain high spirited, also when things are moving fast. Good collaboration and communication skills as well as fluency in English are mandatory.
