The Centre for Educational Development (CED) at Aarhus University invites applications for a three-year postdoc position in the field of educational management and collegial forms of collaboration. We are looking for a colleague to contribute to the realisation of CED’s ambition to strengthen both our research and competence development activities within educational management and collegial collaboration in close collaboration with colleagues at CED and the departments at Aarhus University.
The job
We aim to ensure a research-based foundation for the pedagogical competence development of university teachers at Aarhus University. In addition, we aim to offer a range of competence development activities covering the wide variety of teaching tasks at the university, such as they are described in the Danish Universities' Danish framework for advancing university pedagogy. Therefore, CED's ambition is to strengthen Aarhus University’s research and competence development activities within educational management and collegial forms of collaboration to support the university's implementation of the framework and strategic prioritisation of education and teaching of the highest international standard.
We are therefore looking for a postdoc who can help us reach this goal and offer university teachers the best possible conditions for educational management as well as for collegial forms of collaboration in a teaching context.
You will be part of the research group at the centre, where your research will contribute to building and developing the overall research theme of continuing professional development, which is one of the three research tracks in the centre’s research strategy. You will also have dedicated and highly skilled colleagues working to support pedagogical competence development at the university, ranging from actual courses to consulting and counselling to strategic educational development initiatives in collaboration with management and the academic environments at the faculties.

The Centre for Educational Development is a newly established centre for university pedagogy at Aarhus University. We contribute to the university's research, talent development, knowledge sharing and teaching in university pedagogy. The centre comprises about 60 employees and is organized into three departments specialized in digital support, teaching development and educational development, respectively. The position is full-time (37 hours) and time-limited to a three-year period starting from the time of employment.
You will be placed in the centre's Department for Teaching Development, where you will refer to Division Manager Liza Strandgaard. With respect to the research activities, there will be regular, close collaboration with the research group at CED, which is led by Centre Director Anne Mette Mørcke.

- To initiate and lead research projects with an application-oriented focus within educational management and collegial forms of collaboration in relation to university education, and apply for funding for this
- To contribute to developing and teaching competence development courses within educational management and collegial forms of collaboration in line with the university's priorities and the implementation of these by the faculties
- To enter into dialogue with deputy department heads, department heads or the equivalent on the organization of bespoke courses for groups of educators in order to support competence development within educational management and collegial forms of collaboration
- To be included in the centre's other offers within pedagogical competence development, where you can expect to have to specialize within the offers targeted teachers at a single or a few faculties.

You and your qualifications

You have:
- Relevant academic qualifications at the PhD level (completed)
- Experience with applied research, preferably within educational management or collegial forms of collaboration
- Knowledge of and experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods
- Experience with teaching, preferably of university teachers
- The ambition and ability to develop and teach courses and conduct other types of learning activities, as well as support and guide staff and education managers in such processes
You can:
- Contribute to the planning and execution of a research strategy
- Select and use educational IT for use in competence development courses
- Collaborate with people with different educational backgrounds
You are:
- Solution-oriented and can develop and run complex projects with attention to both results and processes, including being good at including the participants'experiences and perspectives
