Studiejob - Kongens Lyngby

A PhD studentship in synthetic and medicinal chemistry funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation is available at the Department of Chemistry at The Technical University of Denmark (DTU). The project will be under the supervision of Associate Professor Luca Laraia and will start on 1 September 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter. The successful candidate will join a young research team working at the interface of chemistry and biology.

Project Description
One of the main goals of our research group is the identification of selective modulators of cholesterol transport proteins to study their basic biology and translational potential. The project will involve the synthesis of natural product-inspired libraries and analogues of bioactive compounds for the identification of new inhibitors of cholesterol transport proteins. The PhD project is in close collaboration with a protein biochemist post-doctoral researcher in the group who will perform biological screening and validation.
