Department of Research Bioanalysis has an opening for a talented and motivated Associate Scientist with a keen interest in bioanalysis immunoassay methods for a temporary position of 24 months.
About the Department
Research Bioanalysis is part of Global Research Technologies at Novo Nordisk and is located in in a modern R&D facility in the Greater Copenhagen area. Our responsibilities include development of immunoassays for bioanalysis and delivery of data from high quality assays to support identification of new drug candidates. The department currently consists of 16 scientists and 9 technicians highly skilled in development of immunoassays, their platforms as well as automation and optimised small volume liquid handling. Global Research Technologies is organised in multidisciplinary cross-functional project teams and we work in a flexible, highly collaborative and cross-functional setting.
The position
You will be involved in our portfolio of discovery projects by developing and qualifying immunoassays (e.g. ELISA, AlphaLISA, MSD, Gyrolab) for pharmacokinetic studies with a main focus on target engagement biomarker assays.
Dependent on the task, you are expected to work independently by planning experiments and conducting the laboratory work in collaboration with colleagues within the department and across the research organisation in cross-functional project teams. Owing to a significant amount of laboratory-based work tasks, you will proactively identify and resolve experimental issues when developing and characterising assays for use in animal or human samples. Further, you will perform and report quantitative bioanalysis of animal study samples. With your expertise in immunoassays you are able to critically analyse and interpret experimental data. In addition, you will assist in the development of novel workflows, with focus on employment of automation technologies and efficient data handling methodologies.
Qualifications
You hold a Master’s degree in life sciences (e.g. biotechnology, immunology, biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences or a related discipline) preferably with two years of experience from an industry or academic setting. It is crucial that you have experience in developing and working with immunoassays in biological matrices including troubleshooting of these. Experience with automated or semi-automated instrumentation as well as flair for programming will be considered an advantage.
As a person you are curious, self-driven and have an eye for quality. Also, you are proactive and engaged with a positive attitude to new ideas and people. You enjoy working in teams to share knowledge, have an ability to build networks and possess good communication skills.
Candidates at Ph.D. level will not be considered for this position.
