In Maersk Procurement we are looking for our next Category Manager with global responsibilities to further develop and define the strategy for the Feeder category. As Category Manager in Maersk Procurement, you will contribute to developing and implementing procurement and category strategies to support the ongoing transformation to becoming the global integrator of container logistics.

We offer an exciting global opportunity leading the global Feeder category in Maersk. You will be part of the HQ Ocean Procurement team and work with experienced and dedicated people in a global team with significant impact on our strategy and ability to deliver on our targets.

As part of your responsibilities, you will engage and take lead with the global Feeder community, connecting regional teams to share global guidance and best practices. Further to this, you will connect with multiple stakeholders globally to define the category direction and determine how we deliver our promises to our customers. Feeders are an integral part of many customers supply chains and thereby a key component of the integrator strategy.

This is also an opportunity to work with our ESG focal to define how to work with the increasingly important ESG agenda in this category.

Key Responsibilities

Your main focus area will be to develop and drive the global feeder category and lead the global feeder community consisting of regional feeder managers and other relevant parties. You will:

  • Lead the Feeder Category; develop, cascade, and maintain the category strategy
  • Drive that feeder sourcing is planned and done globally
  • Engage the global feeder community and host community calls
  • Align with relevant Key Account owners on global strategy and playbooks for key suppliers
  • Close alignment with the regional procurement teams on regional feeder developments and playbooks
  • Manage complex stakeholder landscape with high-profile stakeholders
  • Actively participate in Global Projects – as part of the project team, as project manager or on steering committees depending on the nature and scope of the project
  • As part of the CEN team you will also have responsibilities outside your immediate category to support the day to day functional responsibilities

Who we are looking for:

  • Min 5 years’ experience with focus on Procurement, Sourcing, Network, Marine operations
  • Experience with Negotiation, Supplier Relationship Management with strategic suppliers & Performance Management
  • Category Management experience is an advantage
  • Knowledge of how Maersk operates the ocean network is an advantage
  • Excellent stakeholder management and strong communication skills
  • Actively uses data when making recommendations and decisions
  • Comfortable with senior executives and can adapt approach and communication to audience
  • Ambassador of company values and behaviors in a visible manner
  • Ability to exercise impact without direct authority
  • Ability to constructively challenge the status quo

  • Excellent written and verbal communicator in English
