Your new role
As the Medical Advisor for Respiratory - DK, you are providing field-based medical and scientific support for the Chiesi Nordics business, with the aim of providing high quality, accurate and timely scientific advice to healthcare professionals regarding the company’s products and associated disease area(s) focusing on the respiratory area. You contribute to the development and implementation of Chiesi strategic planning for the Nordics by providing medical insight and applying expert knowledge about the product and/or disease area. Furthermore, you identify, develop and maintain credible relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and academic centres.

Your work tasks will be the following:
  • Provide fair and balanced field-based medical and scientific support in response to specific requests from healthcare professionals for further information around Chiesi’s product portfolio, clinical development program, or disease area(s) of interest.
  • Identify, develop and maintain professional and credible relationships with the health care community, especially Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and academic centres, in the relevant disease area(s) and in collaboration with relevant internal functions.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with the relevant patient organisations in the disease area(s) of interest.
  • Reviews and approves material developed by Marketing and Sales ensuring compliance with national code of practice and Chiesi standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate crossfunctionally with commercial, market access, as well as all other relevant functions, including regulatory and safety to achieve company goals and objectives.
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of relevant products and relevant disease area(s) in order to act as an expert medical resource.
  • Project management of investigator-initiated trial (IIT) applications, ensuring that all IIT applications are carried out in compliance with applicable regulations and Chiesi SOP’s.
  • Provide local input into company sponsored Phase II-IV clinical development activities, as required.
  • Attend relevant national and international scientific meetings/congresses to ensure up-to-date knowledge of therapy area, gather competitive intelligence, and respond to any specific enquiries from healthcare professionals.
  • Produce and update scientific and clinical presentations for assigned therapeutic area(s) as appropriate.
  • Provide support and training to the sales force and other departments as necessary.
  • Contribute to the development of the Medical Affairs strategic plan, playing a lead role in the organisation and execution of advisory boards and symposia.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements, internal processes and procedures for Pharmacovigilance.


What you'll need to succeed
For this position, you preferably fulfill most of the following requirements:
  • Medical degree, pharmacy degree, or higher science degree
  • Minimum two year experience in pharma industry
  • Proven relationship building skills with key opinion leaders
  • Good working knowledge of Regulatory Affairs and Pharmacovigilance
  • Good working knowledge of the clinical trial process, including the regulations pertaining to phase III/IV clinical study management and conduct
  • Good understanding of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and Good Pharmacovigilance Practice
  • Understanding of the wider Healthcare environment and key opportunities for pharma and the NHS to partner effectively within the scope of the ABPI Code of Practice
  • IT skills, including but not limited to use of MS Office software
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Flexible and positive attitude
  • Experience in the respiratory area or other Chiesi product areas is an advantage.
  • Significant experience in similar roles in the pharmaceutical industry (minimum two years)
  • Organisational and project management skills and experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently as well as part of a team, as the situation demands
  • Ability to interpret and present complex clinical data in a clear manner to a variety of audiences
  • Drive to continuously expand medical and scientific knowledge
  • Strong Medical Affairs skills (study design, management and conduct of studies, study evaluation, medical writing skills, expert panel conduct, symposium and workshop management, KOL management etc.)
  • Strong external stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to recognise links between clinical development and commercial opportunities
  • Willingness to travel
