About the department:

In this role you will be part of The Obesity Strategy & Projects leadership team. Here we provide strategic leadership for current and future products in the obesity therapy areas worldwide, and are accountable for commercial project and portfolio strategies for the therapy area with biggest growth potential according to long-term forecasts.

The Position :

The project portfolio under this role will drive a substantial share of Novo Nordisk’s growth over the next 10-20 years. Key strategic priorities for the area are:

  • Ensure our next generation anti-obesity medicine, CagriSema, is the superior treatment solution for people with obesity
  • Drive cross-therapy area portfolio mindset and opportunity to redefine obesity care mid- to long-term
  • Ensure ambitious and differentiated evidence generation plan for CagriSema ensuring Novo Nordisk leadership in obesity

The VP is responsible for leading a passionate team responsible for setting the commercial ambition, strategy, and direction for the project across the entire value chain. In addition, you will join the Global Project Team and, as a team, develop overall project strategies and launch plans, discuss choices and trade-offs with senior leadership, and ensure our strategies are anchored in strong external market understanding and buy-in from external stakeholders. Which in turn will ensure continued Novo Nordisk leadership in obesity.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant pharmaceutical experience within commercial functions
  • Deep understanding of product/drug development including aspects such as market development, regulatory affairs, product supply, market access, financial management, and/or clinical/medical engagement
  • Experience linking commercial strategy to execution within product launch planning and execution
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaborative and negotiation skills
  • Strategic mind-set combined with a good business understanding
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to formulate clear vision in a compelling and engaging manner
