Then this is a unique opportunity to lead a team of ambitious in-house consultants working in the intersection between business and digital, data & IT across the value chain of Novo Nordisk. The position is newly established, and therefore you can expect to play an active role in defining your areas of responsibility.
About the department
IT Business Consulting is an in-house consulting unit that engages in initiatives of strategic importance to the digital, data & IT agenda in Novo Nordisk. The team consist of 15 dynamic and highly engaged consultants with diverse backgrounds and a broad span of capabilities. The consultants work in many different roles which typically centres around project management, agile ways of working, organisational changes management and classic management consulting tasks. The department also functions as a talent incubator unit, which results in a high focus on personal development and career progression.
Organisationally, the team is anchored in Digital, Data & IT (former Global IT). DD&IT partners with the business to support digital transformation and innovation by providing standardised, efficient and secure technology platforms. The organisation counts approximately 2500 employees in a global setting.
The position
As Head of IT Business Consulting, you will be responsible for the ongoing development and operation the unit, which includes, but are not limited to, the following responsibilities:
For all of the above you will work closely with the Director of the area to ensure strategic fit. You should also expect to be engaged in cross-organisational projects yourself.
Qualifications
You have a Master’s degree in Business, IT, Engineering or another relevant field and proven experience working with development of people and departments. Insight into both the pharma industry and digital, data and/or IT is an advantage as the support and ongoing sparring to the consultants requires a high degree of understanding for both. Having a basic understanding of Agile (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban) is a benefit.
As a person you dare to be a first mover and take lead in engaging the team to follow you. You are a strong communicator, and you easily engage with stakeholders at all levels and cultures. You are structured and driven by results, but most importantly you are capable of creating a trustful environment for the team, where opinions and ideas are shared openly as basis for development and learning.

The position
As Head of IT Business Consulting, you will be responsible for the ongoing development and operation the unit, which includes, but are not limited to, the following responsibilities:
- Attract, hire and onboard talents
- Manage the growing portfolio of assignments (identify and qualify relevant leads, ensure flow)
- Maintain an all-time updated capability framework as basis for structured build of relevant competencies – now and in the future
- Facilitate structured knowledge sharing- and deep dive sessions as basis for best practice implementations
- Coach and mentor the consultants to support their development journey
- Collect feedback from stakeholders to support the continued development of the individuals (and the unit)
- Manage budgets and funding models
- Develop of the department to match the changing priorities of DD&IT and Novo Nordisk
