If so, then you might be our new Data Platform Engineer working as part of the Data & Analytics team of Environmental and Social Sustainability (ESS) at Novo Nordisk. The position We offer an exciting and challenging role where you will play a significant role in ensuring an agile data foundation for environmental data analysis, hereby positioning Novo Nordisk as a sustainability leader among investors, regulators, and other external stakeholders. A specific focus will be to design, build, and maintain a secure, automated, and scalable data base and platform which can support a variety of processes, such as ESG reporting, LCAs, scope 3 simulations, long term environmental forecast, etc. The position is based in Greater Copenhagen, Denmark. As part of the Data and Analytics team, your main responsibilities will be to: Support the digital agenda of ESS by first and foremost design and build a data foundation which can function as a base for environmental analyses in the organisation Engage with various stakeholders to obtain an overview of the data landscape and structures in the organisation relevant for the environmental agenda in Novo Nordisk Work closely with the data analysts and digitalisation analysts in the team to secure optimal and harmonized data entries and ETL processes Ensure security of the database and safeguard the integrity of the inherent data Secure ongoing development of the data foundation and support with programming and simulation tasks for our forecast and analysis tasks Qualifications To succeed in this position, you must be passionate about data and digitalization and thrive in a high pace environment, where things are anything but a steady state and where little guidance may be available. The right candidate should have the following skills: A Master’s degree in Information Technology, Digitalization, Data Science, Data Analytics or a related field At least 3 years of experience as a Database/Platform Specialist, Data Engineer, Data Hub Specialist or similar role Solid knowledge of data management and database design principles, e.g. through cloud-based data warehousing solutions Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python or Java Strong project management skills As a person we are looking for someone who enjoys being part of a fast-paced team and at the same time can work independently. You are not afraid of trying new ways and walking into uncharted territory. You are proactive and a team player who enjoys collaborating with other people in the organisation. About the department The ESS Data and Analytics team is part of the Environmental & Social Sustainability department and is anchored within the Product Supply, Quality and IT organisation of Novo Nordisk. The team has embarked on the journey of reducing the environmental footprint by using data and digital solutions to support decisions. The team is among other things responsible for the reporting of energy, water, waste and CO2 emissions from Production and distribution as well as developing state-of-the-art solutions to support therein. The team consists of highly skilled data analysts and scientists as well as business analysts who drive data analysis, insights and intelligence on the environmental sustainability agenda for our expanding production sites. The Team is currently consisting of 12 people in HQ Bagsværd and 3 colleagues in Bangalore, India. We work closely with stakeholders across Novo Nordisk to implement the Circular for Zero environmental strategy into Novo Nordisk production thus supporting our overall ambition to have zero environmental impact.
